Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Put on new exterior door handle gaskets. Dropped the clutch head mounting screw down inside the door and spent half an hour trying to dig it out. When I finally did I went around to the drivers side and dropped another one. Have yet to get it dug out, had enough for today.

Last week I replaced the carb. Runs a lot better however it's now backfiring a bit. Seems if it's not one thing it's another. I think it might be a timing issue...

Rebuilt the front wheel cylinders. Last week rebuilt the twin master. Truck has been sitting for 20 years, and zero brakes, zero clutch, and I haven't tried starting it yet.

This was over the weekend. New rockers, floor pieces... and that aftermarket fender I bought around 2001 never fit right up front...

Scored a 73 front end!! I say scored because on top of the disc brakes it already has drop spindles, lowering springs, drop shocks and power steering. Can't beat it at $150.00

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think you can use your old front cross member with those upper and lower control arms with some vary minor modifications. That’s if you don’t have torsion bar suspension.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Yeah I can according to everything I've read, no torsion bars for me as it's going on a 64... I wasn't sure which cross member would give me the most clearance or if there is even a difference. Gonna go through it and replace bushings and ball joints while it's out but everything else is good to go, sometimes it pays to not sleep and watch craigslist haha.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part IV

Finished up the majority of the interior. Fresh paint job, seat upholstery, 5 point harnesses, carpet, shifter, steering wheel, etc... Looks like a new truck in there now.
