Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

gonna fix the leaky rubber fuel line/glass fuel filter on the engine tomorrow that sprung a good sized leak before it catches fire or somthing. also might take a trip to brothers but not sure yet, maybe next week i will go instead of tomorrow. soon i will have the windshield in and the brakes will be blead. also waiting on my 1" wheel spacers as the 1.5" ones i have push the rear wheels out to close to the fenders for my liking

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

fixed the fuel leak by replacing the whole line with a metal hard line instead of rubber, replaced the fuel filter. found out i need to replace the power steering belt and might as well change the alternator belt while i am at it. also found out the money i had deposited in my bank account the 25th mysteriously vanished , have the reciept from the teller and all saying it was deposited and how much i had, it also showed on my account last night on the banks website, and now today it shows no record of it ever being deposited wt man how could that be if i just deposited it the previous day. and by the time i found that out they were already closed. and i have bills that need to come out of that, its gonna screw me all up now and cost me more money that i think they should have to pay because it is their mistake and not mine, well sorry for the small, i will get off of my box now.

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

Sorry to hear about the bank issue, but, if you have your receipt that will get worked out and credits coming your way if you have any over draft/return fees!
In regard to your hood, why not do a tilt forward, you could get all the mounting hardware from the junk yard, there are tons of the early 90's buicks and caddy that had this factory...would be a cool mod and solve the problem of original location for tire clearance. Man, would really like to come and check out your 'burb some time..

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

thanks, and i have thought about that, but would have no idea how to do it and get it right, does it all bolt in minus the welding of some stuff to the hood, is it pretty easy?? if you wanna check it out, i plan on going to the cpp show if i can get this bank issue situated fast enough and have enough money to make it, or, you could come and swing by the pad if you are ever out this way. just give me some notice like the day before and we can exchange some #s and i can give you some directions on how to get here. what ever would work better for you.

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

rolled it partway out of the garage so i could take a pic of the chrome exhaust tips that i had installed a couple of weeks ago, installed the new black license frame and smoked lens on the rear plate and also the 2012 tag. took a few pics of each side of the front end through the engine compartment, then put it back in the garage and blead the brake system

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

thanks, i like it better now too than when it had the spike frames. if you are wondering what the license plate light came from, it was from a late 80's early 90's nissan sentra if i remember right lol.

edit: also does anyone know why one front wheel (drivers side) sticks out farther (has always been this way since i have owned it)? the front sheet matal is all ligned up best as possible, and the very front is centered with the bumper, all suspension is tight, nothing loose or bent. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

thats the only thing i can think of as well because it has been wrecked before, somtime before my friend that i bought it from got it. if that is the problem hopefully it isnt to expensive to fix or it will have to wait a while.for it to be done. i wonder if it is possible that the body is not ligned up right on the frame?

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

you got any pics of the front end showing the wheel sticking out? just curious...im thinking its a tweaked frame as well, especially since you put new spindles on it than stock.

that tilt does look cool!

thanks bro, and i try lol. thanks for the pic. was it easy to do the tilt hood, and do you think it would work with a front bumper??

kev2809
no, no pics, its out about an inch or so compared to the passanger side, and yes that tilt hood looks nice wonder if it would work with a bumper.

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

finally installed the arm rests, bought some stuff from brothers trucks, installed the glove box liner i bought at brothers trucks today, the screw holes dont line up for crap except the 4 bottom ones, and to make the side ones line up i had to put it in their a little crooked and then trim part of the box that stuck out past the dash, the top ones dont line up either so i just used self tappers for now, but i think i might be able to fix that problem if i decide to worry about it . also installed the new rubber bumpers and adjusters for the hood, doors, and glove box that i bought from brothers as well. did some cutting on the carrier bearing crossmember to get it to sit a little lower and it does. the cups sticking out the bottom of the arms is touching the ground. then let all the air out and took a few pics. think i could probably put 2x4's under the front wheels and it would still lay out, maybe even lower because the cups wouldnt hit first allowing the end of the arm where it pivots to touch

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

lookin good! what you could do is put stops on the top of the core support to keep the hinges from dropping all the way down, then it could work with a bumper. i say go for it..im thinking about it now lol. its a good alternative when you have tire clearance issues. something im about to figure out in the next couple of weeks when i start on my fenders.
