ahh ok ya ive always herd stainless tubing is a pain to work with but ive never tried.. and thanx man!!!

Alan is great to work with. I would like to help more living a hour away limits that pretty well. But then again I stay out of his way and let the master work is magic.

I'm not sure on the brand of the pump. A friend of mine bought a couple of these for his Camaro and one for me. I think it is the same company that makes pumps for Holley. Anytime you want to meet just let us know. The next time I come up to Tn. I will give you a heads up.

It would take tons of work to do that. It's just the way they are. I worked mine and it still has a contour, but the door looks straight looking down the side. I don't have a quick fix for it.

Yeah Greg, I would like to see ya'll. My truck hasn't changed since you dropped the springs off. But feel free to drop in anytime.

The process of putting the rib in the floor. This will hold true for most patches.

First I cut out the new piece then taped it where I wanted it. Then I screwed it in place. I use a thin 1/16" cutoff wheel and cut out around it. I cut slits in the end to form the taper. Then used magnets to hold it in place while i tacked it.

You could also cut out the bad place then put it on the new patch and do it that way. Which the way I mostly do it, but I had such a small piece to work with I did it this way that is pictured.

I used a small screw driver to even the pieces up as i tacked it. Then welded by skipping around to keep the heat from wrapping the metal. Then ground the welds flat.

I always thought you should sandblast before doing the metal repairs? Won't you be worried about trapping sand in some areas of the cab and doors?

My rule of thumb is too cut out all the bad metal then have it blasted. The floors and rockers were done by someone else. I cut out the rest of the bad spots so it will give the blaster access to areas behind the rust. It takes a lot of time to get the sand out, especially the rockers in this case. The roof skin is removed so that should be easy to remove the sand in that area.

Today was a wash literally. I wanted to epoxy prime it today, but Mother Nature said no way.

The California doors are in great shape, I really didn't seen this being an issue. The blasting showed some holes (small) in the bottom of the doors. It's far better than what we have to work with around here.

Like Alan said, there is no easy way to fix the door edge. Have to make relief cuts through the inner and outer skins to pull it out straight. Just bending it out without cutting reliefs will cause low spots right behind the edge and the edge still won't be level with the rest of the door skin.
