Dang man! Like Captainfab said, glad it wasn't worse. Your engine build is one of the ones that has inspired me, so hope you can get back to this thing soon!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I used my cut off wheel on my die grinder and cut the cast off splinted my wrist with paint sticks and electrical tape and called it good! I probably am using my wrist more than I should but it doesn't hurt much so I figure I am good. When I am not in the shop I just use ace wrap to give it a little support. The paint on the interior turned out great! I got the steering column installed, windshield wiper linkages and motor installed, and the clutch linkage painted and partially installed. Pics will come when I find my camera, cant figure out where I set the thing down!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Good progress despite the injury.
BTW, its not always the stupid drivers in the cars. I'm not commenting on what happened with you specifically. This morning there were 2 bikes behind me and a couple other cars, with a semi in front of us. Doing about 60 in a 55, not really slowing anyone down. One biker saw space in the oncoming lane and went for it, passing 3 cars, the semi and another car in front of that in one shot. No issues, good for him. The second bike waited a while, didn't seem like he was in too much of a hurry, then he suddenly guns it, hard. Flies by me and is accellarating, the car in front of me also decided to pull out and pass the semi at the same time. It's entirely possible he looked and checked his mirror before pulling out and didn't see the bike, but the bike was doing about 80 mph or more trying to pass 2 cars and a semi at once. That didn't give the car driver much of a chance to see the bike. It all ended well. The bike managed to slow down before slamming into the back of the car, they both passed the semi and went on their way. My point here is that the bikes have so much accelleration that even if you know they are behind you, and you look, the couple seconds it takes for you to see that it is also clear in the oncoming lane may be all the time it takes for the bike to suddenly be at your door mirror. I'm very glad I wasn't a witness to a bloody mess. Then about an hour later, a bike flew past me again. This time it was freeway. Me and the other traffic were doing about 70 in a 65 and its a lot of traffic. The bike is weaving through it at around 85-90 mph. Sorry if I'm not sympathetic if he ends up in someone elses back seat. I'm not trying to bash on the bikers here. I've had a few myself over the years and had plenty of close calls and near misses. There are just too many examples of the bikers not riding responsibly to always blame it on the car drivers being stupid. If you're on a bike in traffic, be careful. Everything on the road around you can kill you if it hits you.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
the way I see it you're completely right and I have no problem at all with what you've said here hgs I've been riding either passenger or driver/rider for my 19 years of life and your head has to be like a swivel or you'll end up on the ground hard as a biker. I do take some risks that I probably shouldnt and I'll admit to that but when I get mad dogged for no apparent reason or suddenly find myself using both brakes due to someone being afraid of a yellow light and going from 40 to 0 then I have the urge to indent their door It'll always be a war out there no matter what you're in I've been bullied by civic's in my truck and even my father's duramax longbed and I just can't believe who the dmv allows to be a driver sometimes it's ridiculous but anyway back to progress on the truck atta boy!!

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I dont disagree that there are stupid bikers out there! But I was hit by someone who openly admitted to texting while driving and didnt see me because of it! Either way I think I might let the insurance total the bike and get another vehicle.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
I used my sisters camera... doesnt take very good photos, looks like I know what to get her for christmas, but at the very least here is something to look at!
I got the carpet in Went with ultraplush charcoal from Auto Custom Carpets INC that also has the Mass Loaded Vinyl and the jute on it, I also got an extra yard to cover from below the rear window to the floor to clean it up and provide extra sound barrier behind the seat. Windows are tinted at 35% which is the legal limit for Wisconsin. Doors and Fenders have been epoxy coated and sprayed with slicksand. The interior of the doors are all painted and ready to roll. Also have the master cylinder on to get the lines bent right before bleeding the system, and got all of the clutch linkages hooked up. I got rid of the very dirty greasy style rag joint on the side of the linkage actuator and found a rubber grommet that was laying on my shelf and modified it to fit, much cleaner looking and less grease everywhere.

Re: Project: Turbo 250
Well here is today's effort, I got some more insulation installed inside, carpet put in, seat belts in, and got the corner cab speaker brackets in the mail today, got em painted up and installed. I am glad I got them. They are very nice and worth every penny! Also got all of my intake plumbing in, including the blow off valve, and just have to plumb in the meth injection and clamp it down.
