Beautiful truck. Would have loved to have that lift in my shop! Slick is right. What will you adjust to lift that low side? Shims or something on the suspension?

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Shawn;

First I'll probably just drive the truck a bit to get everything settled in, then loosen all the suspension bolts and bounce the truck a bit, maybe with a friend or two and tighten every thing back up. If one side is still higher, I might even try swapping springs around and see what that does. I'm not worried about it,
but will address it if it stays that way.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

So glad I went with the 2.5" lift. I think it looks perfect at that height. Not to much air and not too much tire. Congrats on getting everything mated back together. I'm still waiting for my cab to be color sanded. I am dead in the water at the moment. I am anxious to see how challenging the wiring is for ya.

I think you posted this, but are you running 33x12.5's on 17" rims??

Looks great Gary!

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Hey Chris thanks !

Yes basically I believe there 275/70/17's which is about 33" tale but I think a little narrower than 12.5 !

I'll have more pictures soon, I have a couple crappy cell pics I may post tomorrow, but I did have the room to get good pics. The bed was on and he was working on the trim, once it's all set he'll be doing the white on the bed.
Which should have been today.

I'm hoping the wiring goes easy !!!!

Steve’s been good..... There have been some times when he's had other priorities, but he is focused and makes progress when he gets back at it !

What I need to do is clean my garage whiles he's got the truck !!!!! What a mess !!!

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Lookin good Gary, that sits just right. Saw your post on my Skyjacker thread. Looking like Ill have my front clip back on next weekend. Still sorting the HEI, A/C Brackets and Getting my Thorley 300Y's bolted up. Cant wait to see your truck all shined up in the sun. Ill let you know where mine sits when Im back together. 3/4" is surprising as mine is still off 3/8" with the engine and trans in place.

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Thanks Guys !!!

I very happy with how it's coming out, I think the color combo looks awesome !!! One of my previous trucks was this same green, but solid green, but that was just too green. With the white & the trim it really makes the it look sharp.

Nice work! The paint looks beautiful. I know this has been a long time coming to get to this point.

I also like the wheels. Seems like they have a little bigger holes than most that you see in that style. What brand/size are they? Thanks

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Mickey Thompson Classic 3's 17" x 9" The holes may be bigger due to them being 17" or when they went to the Classic 3's they may have changed the holes !

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Holy smokes Gary! You had to be kinda ecstatic when you saw her wrapped back up in painted sheet metal?! Now I am really jealous. maybe I should put mine on a trailer and bring her north to your body guy. The two tone looks so good as well. I guess I could always do that after mine's assembled.

Anyway, I think the narrower tires look so much better on these trucks. I will be following suit with a narrower tire. Do you know what the backspace is on your rims and width of the rim?

Congrats again!
Chris

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Thanks everyone for the compliments !!!

Chris, The rims are 17" x 9" but I don't know the back spacing, I'd have to measure it, LMK if you want me to ?

I didn't get to bring the truck home today, just TOO much going on. Shooting for tomorrow ! Life just keeps through crap my way, or at people close to me !

Anyway, I love how it's turning out and all the great support from you Guys on the board !!!

Gary

Re: Project; Divorce Therapy ( 72 SWB 4x4 )

Steve called and said the tailgate is on, all the moldings on and she's all set to go, but it's return home will have to wait until Monday due to it raining here all day ! And Steve won't be available over the weekend due to his daughter getting married this weekend.

Anyway..... This will give me time to get the garaged cleaned up and ready for he to come home and get caught up with some yard work that has been neglected due to me working constantly on the truck !
