Re: slammed 57

Well, the dash is going to need another round or two of 2k primer as you can see some of the low spots, I been making these small sanding blocks to match the contour and hard to reach places when they come upon, I also put together some door stands so I can hammer + dolly, bodywork and prime and paint etc..... makes things a little easier

Re: slammed 57

Looking good! I finally put a coat of primer on my 57 this week. Now I’ll be sanding for a while until I get it straight!

Great progress…it’s coming along. I’m hoping to start laying mud soon myself. Not my favorite step in the project

It's looking good. All the sanding makes the finished product in the end. What are you using for poly? Steve

Re: slammed 57

nice and straight, great work.
when i do bodywork I use wax and grease remover, applied liberally, to check the straightness of the bodywork as i go.
what color do you plan to spray? gloss, semi gloss, flat sheen?

Wow that looks good. Envious of you being done with the bodywork. I’ve been sanding for weeks. Driving by July?

will you lay down some sealer before paint in case of incompatabilities between manufacturers?

I sure wish by july. but I still have to prep the bed and rear fenders and then buff the entire truck...... by the end of summer I hope is more probably more realistic

Yes sir.. the base will lay down better and the seal helps for better adhesion with chips from road debris... from what Iam told

Re: slammed 57

Well I sprayed some smaller parts to get my gun adjustments dialed in( I really like this SPI base and clear) I put on 6 coats of clear to give me a little wiggle room for when I cut and buff. Hopefully if all goes well I’ll get the front fenders sprayed this week.
