Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks Trai.

I got some mirror arms in and I don't remember them being this short. I had planned to move them forward after shortening the arms but I think I'll just leave them as is.

Years ago I ordered some stainless ones for a 69 GMC I had and they were long imo. They were also useless as the mirror head shook so much going down the road you couldn't see anything out of them. So I hope these are better.

I also got some 68 jack hardware out of a truck but I'm clueless as to what each pieces function is so I'll post a thread on it.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I think its for your seat slider so you can pull the lever to move the seat forward or back and it unlatches from the other side.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I actually used a plastic handle form a jar opener that fit in the gaps perfectly. I tapped gently until they came right out.

I got my wheels sanded and painted. Now to get the truck up on jack stands and take the ralleys to get the rubbers off and on my white rims.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got the 2 6'' at pull a part and the 8'' from a board member here. I bought four of 8'' and decided to do 6'' on the front. Sold the two other 8'' and tried to sell these but nobody would send the $. So I decided to use them and sell the rallies. I'm going to run my GMC hubcaps I got from Tim. I'm going for a plain jane look. I may paint my grille that I have for mockup and run it with chrome bezels and bumper. I have to see what that will look like first though. I think most trucks that were plain had white bumpers and grilles and bezels too.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I just sent payment to a board member for a Power steering pump and brackets for my big block. So I have almost all of that bb stuff. When I rebuild the 454 I'll buy an aftermarket intake and carb. The way gas prices are I may stick with my 350 though for now.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got the big block PS pump and brackets in the mail yesterday. The seller included a new pump with it that will need a canister pressed onto it. The pulley on the pump w/ the canister was bent pretty good. I figure the usps people dropped it. I'll find another one when I get the motor rebuilt and need one.
