This picture is from the driver side cab corner. You can see the replacement cab piece. Not sure about it but the outside has a bunch of bondo. Too be continued!!

Looking good, I bet the rotisserie is helping a lot.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Yes it is. Only thing is I am not sure if I can cut out the cab corner while on the rotisserie. What do you think? Should I support the cab on a cart, off the rotisserie? I don't what any sagging problems.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
IMO you can get away with it if all the rest of the structure is there and your just replacing the outer sheet metal. I'd check the door gap prior to cutting it out and after you get the new tacked in place prior to final.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
If the rest of the floor is in place then you should be able to do cab corners while it sits on the frame (or suitable replacement). People do that all of the time.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
If you guys have not gutted the doors yet you might consider it. Makes them much lighter for this kind of work. Let the doors be your guide if your happy how they fit the opening your good! Most of the patch panels we have played with require some work to fit properly especially inner & outer rockers as well as the cab corners.

I have gutted the doors so they are light.... I was planning on hanging 1 at a time and checking fitment as I replace the cab corner.... then move on to the outer rocker. I do plan to repair the floor and "A" pillar first. I have a few welds to clean up from the PO's repair after that is repaired and cleaned up I will start the cab corner... Thanks for the help guys!!! Scott

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
Cab corner removed. The PO had repair work done but it was all lap welded on. So I had to cut everything out and butt weld back.

Need to move door back right? If so I think I have to enlarge hinge bolt holes.

Looking good on the body work. My 71 is the first time I have done sheet metal work. Watching Sky do some of the back cab work on my truck learned me a couple tricks that would have made it easer for me. You will be done before you know it.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
I'm no body expert, in fact you have done more than me at this point, but i keep reading about bracing inside the cab before cutting out rusty metal, and don't see any in your pic's, in regards to your gap at the rear of the door, is it possible that the cab door jamb might have shifted to the rear a little when the rocker and cab corner were cut? I ask because i think i see a gap between the rear corner and the outer rocker.. and your saying you may need to slot the hinge holes.
If you have not cut the other side yet try taking some measurements at different places on both sides of the door jamb and see if you can find a descrepancy. But another idea would be to add shims between too the hinge and the door to move it back. Love your truck, keep up the good work!

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"
So tonight I had a body guy I know stop by and look at the cab corners and rocker. He said that,
"that it how the aftermarket stuff fits...even the GM rockers need to be messaged. But you did a great job". I felt pretty good and can't wait to get some time to work on it. Updates soon.
