Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)

Steering shaft is on page 4 and 7. 4 was mock up and 7 was close to done.

As far as updates.. not really, I have spent some time before Christmas working on getting the bed straight. It is kicking my tail. I wish they repopped the beds. I would buy one in a heart beat.

I also picked up a 61 Apache 4x4 short bed a couple of weeks ago. Kitted the carb and got it running right today on its own gas..

Well, looks like I told you wrong! I just went back to look & noticed that I was looking at inner bedsides for the SWB stepside on LMC....when I looked a couple months back, the guy from Facebook said LMC had them...apparently I just looked at it all wrong....the other guy on there (supposed vendor) said several companies make them...now I'm not so sure that's the case....sorry for misleading you fellas ....i'll do some more digging just to make sure...the ones I was looking at are in the link below:

This place has them in fiberglass but only show a 8 foot bedside. I would definitely go for some fiberglass 6 foot sides.

I wanted new bed sides also. Can't believe no one makes them. Probably be junk like most of the reproduction parts.

Your truck is coming along great.

No support. I bought one but it seems to be working fine without it. I should have clocked my steering wheel correctly before I welded it up though.

I have experienced some times when the steering seemed to bind but it has only happened twice when turning at slow speed but I can't reproduce it. it could be in my remote reservoir or something.

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)

While I am here i will upload a pic from a couple of weeks ago. Primed the bed but it still needs a ton of sanding. At least it is straight now.

This was after a quick little cruise on a nice Sunday afternoon. Drove about 50 miles. No mechanical issues, other than the cruise still doesnt work. But I think I have it figured out. The third brake light that I eliminated has to be plugged in or a resister has to be put in line to make it work.

Pulled the bed off last weekend and getting ready to prime and sand a few times before paint.. FINALLY, you know you are done with body work when you are sick and tired of looking at it. It wont be perfect but it will be mine..

The build is coming along nicely...those swb fleets are sweet. Just picked up a 63 swb fleet to sit next to the short stepper.

Fleetsides are hard to find. Been looking everywhere for a bed. Still not happy with this bed but it is going to get paint.. I am tired of messing with it.. Want to drive it....

Thanks 79azc10, I have been stalled on the bed. But I am within a couple of hours from being able to lay down some paint...
