Thanks, T.J. Quote:
I ordered some 3/8" SS tubing for my fuel line from the tank to the fuel pump. I will run the stainless the length needed along the frame rail with a filter inline and the connections from the stainless to the pump and tanks will be flex lines using Aeroquip Startlite hose and -an fittings to allow for movement and vibrations. I want to get the SS line attached on the frame rail before putting the cab back on. I hope that the tubing shows up before my next days off so I can get that done and then put the cab on the following weekend. I also ordered enough of the tubing to do my trans cooler lines in the same way, hard lines with flex lines on the ends for connections. I'm still trying to decide on electric cooling fans. I don't want to spend a bunch, and I'm having a hard time trusting the cheaper ones. I wanted to find a Taurus or Lincoln fan but they are too thick to work for me. I am thinking about going with 2 12" fans rather than one 16" fan so if one fan fails I will have a back up. I am open to any comments or ideas on what might be best.

Thanks for coming on down and hanging out at the meet up.
Your build always looks so clean. Who are you getting your ss lines from? |

I'm getting my lines from Inline Tube. I got my brake lines from them and was very pleased so I went with them again for the fuel lines.

Re: pdx-sanity66
I too may end up needing a thinner fan. I want to resuse the Mark 8 fan, but if I end up adding AC and a shroud I may need something thinner to clear the pulleys. If it were me I'd go with 2 fans over one, BUT, wire them on separate relays otherwise you'll still have a single point of failure.

Re: pdx-sanity66
I started bending and fitting my SS fuel lines along the frame rail this afternoon. I'm pleased with the way it is turning out so far.

Re: pdx-sanity66
Thanks for looking in. I appreciate the comments.
Today was an awesome day for Sanity. For the first time in a couple of years, the cab and body were joined back together.

Re: pdx-sanity66
thanks Greg, It's been a long time since it resembled a truck and I'm happy with the way it's going.
Thanks, man. Quote:

Thanks but it's still a long ways from done. Quote:
The only other thing I got done this weekend is to get the lower radiator mounts measured, the holes drilled, and some paint on the crossmember. Next weekend I'll get them bolted back up.

Re: pdx-sanity66
I installed the mounts in the front holes so it did move the engine forward about 2 1/2". You can use them in the original position if you drill a hole for the bottom bolt. The upside is the room for the distributor and I just like the way it sits in the engine bay. The downside is you'll probably need to run an electric fan since the engine will be closer to the radiator. I am running the serpentine pulley setup with the reverse flow water pump and I've got 4 1/2" to work with or go with a pusher fan in front of the radiator. I've been looking at fans, though, and I can get something to squeeze one in between.

Re: pdx-sanity66
Thanks man. It was very slow moving at the start but I've been able to make great progress this summer.
I'm having a garage sale next week, Sept 5-7. Besides all the household items and misc. stuff we've accumulated over several years, I am selling some of the parts off of Sanity that I don't plan on using. I posted a partial list on the "for sale" thread but I've got a few more things also that I don't want to bother shipping such as a trans crossmember, 2 tailgates, a pair of seat tracks, and a bellhousing and flywheel. If any of you local guys want to stop by, even just to talk trucks, you're certainly welcome to do so. My address is: 1031 NE 177th Ave. Portland, OR
