Thank You for shopping with LMC Truck

We are pleased to inform you that your order has been received.
The details of your order have been provided below.
They don't have to sound so damn happy about it.

Got some gaskets coming from LMC, along with some molding clips. Got the sending unit ordered from Advanced this morning as well. I shamed my local Keystone guys in to giving me a grille and headlamp bezels, so that will make it look better as well. Hopefully by tomorrow or Wednesday I'll have a few things here and be able to start some reassembly.
Then all that is left is getting the mechanical bugs worked out of the new engine and pray the transmission holds out for us. I really don't have the money to rebuild that right now.

I guess you like throwing money away by using LMC, eh?
So waht extra grills and bezels do you have?

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

To me, they are in fairly sad shape. Might be good enough for something that is a daily driver and has not been painted. Has a crack in the passenger side bezel where it's been hit, all the painted portions were krylon'd at some point (looks bad to me), some of the 'chrome' is peeling.
About par for grille and bezels off of a 20+ year old vehicle that are made out of plastic.

If I could I would come take the grill and bezels off of your hands, but I don't see it happening this week

Just what you'd need Joe, more junk to transplant to Alaska.

I really like the 350 emblem addition.... Glad I do, since we drilled holes.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

Starting to look like a truck again. They put the drivers side sending unit in, we got the bed back on, tailgate on, cab molding and tailgate moldings put on. Still waiting on some handle rod clips from GM so I can get the doors going back together. Have a windshield and back glass weatherstrip here now, glass guy will by tomorrow at some point to get those put in with a new windshield and my solid back glass (hate the sliders). I'm hoping he can put the new weatherstrips on the vent windows for me, because it looks like a PITA to me. It would have the new rear sport bumper on it, but they took time to clean and repaint the tag pocket so it would match the stone shields I painted over the weekend.
It's really coming together now though. I did get a new aftermarket grille and bezels for it, but the grille has a major flaw in the 'chrome' so I'm waiting on another to show up for it. Getting anxious to see her all put together and washed up!

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

We took in one on monday and two on tuesday, all 3 decent hits and not the normal bumper job. Also got a couple of the "nascar specials", you know, where they just want the bumper cover reattached, the fender beat out where a lamp will go in it, the hood will open and close and be safe. I don't mind doing them and have a guy who is good (sorta scary really) at doing that sort of stuff, and I charge 3 or 4 hours labor for what takes him maybe 30 minutes plus a little test drive. Also got a window motor job and a door latch job. So all in all, much busier than we have been the last few weeks. My guys just found a little time today to start doing a few things, you know, between waiting on parts and supplements and stuff to dry... you always have a few minutes here and there.

I might be camera happy right now, but.... yeah. They got the new bumper on, caught our Hertz gal walking through the shop (I have a Hertz Local Edition inside my shop) and got her to stop and pose. I hope she never sees it.

Hind site, we should have painted the bed sill white, it does look a little off having that red strip show through like that doesn't it.

Looks good to me. The truck, too. Too bad our Enterprise doesn't keep anything like that around.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

On the trailer, for now the white wheels and white stripes is as close as we'll get. Maybe in a few years when it is due to be painted we'll think up a good two tone for it.

Joe, we already did the suspension! I just went the opposite direction. I've never had a lowered truck, save for bringing the back down level on a few 90's models I had. When I build up my early 70's chevy, it'll be lower than anything I've ever owned.

Her husband is a Tulsa policeman, and has arms bigger around than my thighs (for those that have not seen me, that's big). She's a helluva gal though, love having her around all the time.

And, wow, I found a photo of her husband online. Just to show you I'm serious.

Re: Shop Truck refurb, code name Chaser

Got the new windshield and back glass in yesterday, those glass guys sure make it look easy. Have the passenger door put back together for the most part, still lack getting the wires and glass in the drivers door. Everyone decided it would be a shame to put the trim panels back on the doors in the shape they were in, so they are getting a fresh coat of color. We're also painting the bed sill white, it just looks weird being red with the two tone, so much of it shows under the tailgate and all.

Hoping to get a lot of time this weekend to devote and try and get it buttoned up.
