Re: Project N2Deep

It's funny how these things always start off great. Everyones excited, then things start to slow down and you see your stuff get pushed to the side. To finally you either get to take your ride back home in unfinished pieces, the work is substandard or like in my situation the work is good, but at the end you feel like you've gone through a 12 round fight with the shop owner.

Anyways, enough of me crying about this. I know there are more important things to worry about in life than what my paint guy is doing. Whether or not this guy finishes the truck it will get done!

Re: Project N2Deep

i wish every shop that takes on a project would have to sign a contract stating when its gonna be finished, and every week they are late a chunk of money goes back to you.

i bet that would make them stop doing that sh|t

have you decided if your gonna keep this one?

I feel your frustration. You would think somebody would work their butt off for a guy who's actually willing to pay them to work on a hot rod. Damn!

Re: Project N2Deep

I stopped by today as the last time I talked to him it was over the phone. He said he realigned the cab sunday and modified the brackets for the front bumper to make them fit better. The truck looked pretty good, he had it pulled out in the sun light and I couldn't find any flaws in the paint. He was still color sanding the bumper & grill and said it should go back together soon. He says it still won't shift into park & if he adjusts it it won't go into drive. I will call ididit when I get the truck back and see what I can do. Also, he never got the fuel filler to work. But overall it looks pretty good and I can deal with the other stuff.

Btw it's the first time I saw the exhaust and it came out great! You can't even see anything until you get up under it and look up. And I have it dumping in front of the rear wheel tucked between the frame and bed. You can't see anything!

I will post the pics later when I get home.

Re: Project N2Deep

Hey Bigshoe24- the pic of the truck in your sig reminds me of my project truck when I first started to mess with it (it was about the same color and I had 22's all the way around- bagged and an aftermarket front clip on it). I will scan some pics of the truck when I first started to show what I started with.

Re: Project N2Deep

Man all I can say is all the B.S. was worth it when I put the wheels on and aired out the bags. It's in my garage (about 90% of what I wanted is done). I need to adj the tailgate latches, lower the bed on one side (body line doesn't match), adj the pass side door striker, adj one side of the hood hinge and do something with the inside of the cab roof (looks pretty bad). Overall the truck looks real good. Also, it doesn't shift very well, something is wrong with the setup. The truck sounds like a monster (VERY LOUD) and seems to have a aggressive cam. I was so excited to get home and put the wheels on I left my iphone in my work truck so the pics will have to wait.

I'm very happy how the truck came together (from the drop, rear roll pan & tailgate combo to the shaved cab & bumper). After 5 1/2 yrs it's almost done!

Re: Project N2Deep

Hey, if you guys can wait 3yrs then you can wait another day (btw I did try- I woke my wife up at 1:30am to ask were the camera was at and she wasn't too happy). But the truck looks just like the one I built in my head 6 yrs ago. I sat in the garage for about 3 hrs just looking at it!
