Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

i really like your front end, and strongly thinking of switching over to it. can you give me some info?

Trucks coming along nice. Why would you drill the head for a coolant temp. just take the bung out the back on the passanger side head.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

You have to drill the head to use the 86 ect sensor. I am just going to use an adapter for it. I got the tanks, switching valve, filter, etc all mounted. Just need to plumb it now. Getting closer!!!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

I absolutely love it. This harness is freakin awesome. You can hardly see it when you're looking right at the thing in person. Very nice piece for sure! Now I just need some S&P headers. Thanks for all the nice words guys!

Sorry man. Has been a little slower at work so the extra cash has slowed as well. If you get someone to buy the welder I have in the for sale section I will finish this darn thing!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Well. I gues any progress is good progress. I had some time to hang out with my little man and he wanted to work on Daddy's truck. I decided to drill and tap my cylinder head instead of using the adapter because it just stuck out too far to work for me. Got it installed just in time for him to loose interest. Shorttle attention span they have! I know, pics or it didnt happen!

I really like the idea of doing this. I have heard of guys doing this, looks easy enough to me. The adapter does stick out a little. (still kinda cool looking in brass though). Hope your son picks up more wrenching secrets than mine.

I did this the lazy way..... I used a bushing instead of an adapter. Glad to hear you're motivated again, . Hang in there, it will come together.

Shoot Rob, as long as it doesnt leak! Looks like a good idea to me. It was actually really easy to drill and tap though.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Went to the U-Pull it yard today and FINALLY got the fuel lines I needed. Hope to get them cleaned and installed tonight. Got family and friends coming over so we'll see how that goes. Maybe I'll get the cab back on this weekend. Wish me luck!

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Good and bad news. The lines I got were off a long bed so they turned out to be totally wrong. So I took some time and bent some myself. Still need to cut them off the proper length and flare the ends but that'll happen tonight if my little one goes down in time for me to muster up the desire to go out in the garage and sweat like hell again. Little bit at a time I guess.
