I have just the basics on the drivers side. The fuse panel was relocated to above the trans tunnel and ran to the frame that way..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well, i own a bunch of welders. lol. i used a hobart 230 machine for those i believe. i also own a Lincoln 220 and 110 machine. i would use a 220 machine just for the amperage you will need to penetrate. i know some people say they can get a 110 machine hot enough, i could never get it to do it. a welder is a good investment, and over time it may actually make you money by doing jobs for other people.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
ya your right. i been wanting to buy a 220 for a while, but its hard to invest in expensive tools because it takes away from my truck for a long time lol.
i thought about turning it into money from other jobs too, but i have a horrible consious (sp?) thats why i dont even want to weld on my own frame...i guess experience would take care of that though..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
im thinking also to maybe buy these from suicide doors and weld 2 pieces of square tubing across the notch and weld a square 3/16" plate across, and mount the top bag to it. the lower bracket is only 30 bucks, and im sure i can rummage around for the tubing and top plate. those kp brackets are nice but they are over 100 bucks shipped!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well i still havent gotten the engine puller yet, so i decided to finish up the rear that i started on a few months ago. and heres how it turned out..
lot better than this... still needs a little grinding and then filler but happy how it turned out. this was probably the hardest part i had to replace on this whole truck...lot of body curves and a tailgate hinge to make sure it was lined right, lot of relief cuts and splices. you can see its still a little bent in, but the bumper will cover that anyways

I've seen you around on the forum, but I've never really looked too much into your build. I just read all 16 pages of your thread, and let me just say that you do some impressive work. Keep it up man.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
haha...sure hope so. i actually cant wait to start the body work...im tired of welding and crap. i get burnt out quick of doing the same thing.

well guys, i got my axle brackets in a few days ago, had the day off so i went at it. cut them damn tubs out, that wasnt fun! im having a few problems trying to get everything lined up...some unusual problems. hope to get this all welded up by this weekend. heres a shot with the trailing arms up against the frame, with the bag mocked up. just a teaser til i get everything welded in, but should be what it will look like. im really considering a spacer between the ta crossmember and ta's because im not really digging the offcentered wheel...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Sweet! Looks like your making more progress than I am. I just have an idea and the material. No time though. But here is what I will most likely be doing. Something like this just cut to fit obviously and gussets where they need to be.

well, got everything wrapped up yesterday. it tough trying to weld with a 115 amp welder, i think before i attempt a "Z" im going to get a bigger welder! heres some progress pics from over the weekend.. was tough trying to get a good angle, but you get the idea! i still might add some 1" spacers between the bag...it doesnt get a lot of lift with this setup..it just clears over the top of the tire at full lift.
