Cool Re: Vintage picture thread

HalfTon,
Hey it doesn't hurt to like Mopar as long as you know your heart is in a Chevy truck!

One of the guy's I work with found all these pictures that our company downloaded to the main hard drive. It shows the planning and grading and building of the plant. All the pictures are B/W and just amazing. Saw a lot of the older guy's I learned from in these, that are now gone. They brought back a lot of good memories seeing them and looking back.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I don't know, sems like alot of Fords and some other Gm stuff as well as Chevys. That highway shot sure had a bunch of Mopars though. It almost looked staged.

Two more I found in my parents' closet in slide format. This was June 1973. (I am no longer in diapers, by the way.)

I don't think it's a Longhorn, but I think I saw a side photo somewhere among the slides. I will try to dig that back up.

Here's our new 71 with the original owner. He was a bull rider and followed the rodeo circuit in it. Of course, it's full of dirt - everywhere! Second pic is of him and his daughter with their dinner.

x2!!! I have never had one, but I am thinking of putting it on my "bucket list"...either a 68-70 Super Bee or Roadrunner...I still regret not buying the 69 'Bee that had coons living under the hood for $1k about 10 yrs ago, but I was broke! (I still don't have much $$$, just good credit!

My dad had a dark green with white top 72 custom 10 lwb when it was new like this, (no slot mags, though). It was a 307 auto, PS PB, no AC, I still remember that hot vinyl seat and camper shell! He used it as a daily driver but traded it around 1977 for a 74 or 75 black with red interior Silverado with a 454 when he got a nice bass boat. It was a cool truck but he still missed his 72 (and the fuel sipping 307). He said that the 307 was one of the best all around engines he ever had.

Is the photo from the aftermath of the May 18, 1980, eruption of Mt. St. Helens in Washington?

. . . .

Yes, it was taken after things "cooled down" . . . on the right, are the tracks left from the skids of the helicopter that landed to check things out. You can see the footprints where someone got out and walked over to the truck and back again.

. . . .

Re: Vintage picture thread

My Dad never owned any 67-72 models that I'm aware of, but he had a lot of the 73 and up style...

This is Old Yeller, the 78 GMC that he bought in 1980 with 4000 miles on the clock... We ran that thing for over 400k miles before I finally blew a head gasket in high school. I wasn't so good about checking the fluids back then...

Here's my uncle's Luv that he bought new. Not sure of the year, but this was a picture from the roadtrip Dad and I took with him to Yellowstone in 1979. I still (vaguely) remember climbing through the sliding back window to get beverages from the cooler in the back!

Here's a few of his earlier Chevy that he had when I was born in 76. I think this one was a 74 or 75 Chevy.

And here's one last one of my Dad and Grandpa kicking it in the back of the same truck:

Hey all,

I spent a few hours scanning my Dad's photos of all the old trucks he owned on the past. Here is the start:
