Re: mylow53 build

well that whole run it out the back idea was a bit more work than i was ready for. i took it to kenz mufflers in oxnard. and they informed me that i would need to relocate the fuel pump, the air pump and a mess of wires and hoses. so we decided to dump it out infrount of the rear wheels heres the picts

Re: mylow53 build

also i payed the boy (13 years old) to install all the rattle trap pieces in the truck. he's been more interested in the build ever since he went for the first ride. i did install the original vacuum wiper motor in but i don't think it can handle the v8 the blades go up very slowly and won't go back and ideas would be helpful.

Greg--

The exhaust looks nice. To be really low or and have full exhaust...that is the trade off. I like how clean it looks dumped in front of the rear wheels. My exhaust will be SS 2.5" and I had a sweet X member made only to realize I had no room for it

Nice work

Re: mylow53 build

ok i'm having some issues with the mustang 2 front end the shock mounts are interfering with the lock to lock steering. is there a way to limit the travel of the steering? is there a limit on the tie rods movement?

Re: mylow53 build

again any help with the steering limits would be quite nice

today i did the DMV thing and drove the truck to be registered. i didn't know this but apparently my truck needed a certificate of weight to be legal. so i had to drive it across town to the scales. i did loose a bolt or 2 on the way and i think my power steering is possessed. but i made it back alive after about 10 miles of driving. including a 70 mph test at full throttle. NICE!!!! i ordered the personal lic plat that reads
"mi low53" some one else apparently got the "my" before me!

Re: mylow53 build

That's a very nice truck!
I just went through that last week, I had to get the truck weighed and inspected, I went to CHP, they ended up replacing the VIN tag on the piller with the number on the frame, appearently the frame or tbe cab was not original.

Much much does it wiegh fully outfitted, my truck weighed 2880 lbs without the glass and bumpers.

Are you running a GM ps pump with the mustang rack? If so you need a pressure reduction valve, the pump puts out more pressure than is required for the rack and makes it hyper sensitive.

Re: mylow53 build

i believe i have the correct gm pump since it came with the billet specialties serpentine set up. i did get the reduction valve which by the way has a larger hole vs the original. and yes the steering is sensitive. it's just the shock mount rubs on the tire and rim depending on what height the air bags are. I'm thinking of putting a piece of steel in the lower a arm. the question is in the rack is there a built (adjustable)in limit to how far they will turn.

Re: mylow53 build

thanks guys i figured it out why the power steering was leaking. When i order the pump i knew the presure issue so i asked for the pressure reducer. they shiped it to me and i swaped out the part. well come to find out today that they sent the pump with the new pressure reducer installed!. so by re-swaping the part the pump didn't over whelm my resovor and shoot out the breather holes. so the correct reducer has a smaller hole the stock one has a larger hole. One down several other issues to go.
put another 10 miles on her today sure get lots of looks!

Looks good Greg. You must be proud (your wife looks proud).
What are you doing for a front bumper? Just curious....

Mine is currently being painted. It will be out towards the end of this month.

Looking good.

Greg-

The reason why I asked is that I have a an idea on a bumper. I will send you a PM as I want to keep it on the down low. It is funny that you bring up the cab patch panel. I think of it every time I see your truck. I actually think that is why it turned out so nice.....ha ..ha

You both can make it up to me by mentioning me in the articles that will feature each one of your trucks.....That's not too much to ask.
