Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I like the camper but to be honest, I think it needs to also be bagged....sorry to plant the seed. I'm sure that your were already thinking "how can I tinker with this camper".
Your welcome..ha ha Marc

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
I am glad I'm not the only sick one out there. I had it in the air on Saturday and looked at the torsion flex system for that reason. I thought about re-keying the outers to drop it, but worried about it scraping in and out of driveways etc. A bagged Burro would be soooo cooool.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
seat is coming along. The rear of the seat has 2 large pockets sewn into the carpet for jumper cables and a gallon of coolant and a longer 30 degree angled pocket for an umbrella and a shotgun. More pics later tonight once its stretched around and installed in the truck.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Well now that you looked at the Trorflex suspension and discovered that there is no way to to modify it.
Here's an idea, Take it out and replace it with a beam axle from a front wheel drive car and add air bags. Of course this opens a small can of worms for the brakes. One could adapt the electric brakes to the axle or use the hydraulic brakes with a surge brake coupler and get a new set of wheels. Fud 4 thought

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Thanks guys. The seat definitely has " texture" and isn't plain Jane. With the added 3/4 pleated foam on top of the OE seat foam, it's reeeeeealy comfy! I added the heated seat grids back and bottom before the cover went on and will wire those in this weekend. I'm going to hide the flat heated seat switches on the bottom corner edges of the dash as it rolls under. You won't see them but can easily feel them.
The seat pockets on the back hold some jumper cables on the passenger side, a gallon of coolant on the drivers side and the large long pocket is for my wife's shotgun and umbrella. She does a little light competing in the spring every week at the local skeet range and has her concealed license so no worries. Should look pretty bad A with a 5'3" chick rollin up in the truck, airing it out and then pulling a double barrel from the seat pocket. I love me an ex surfer girl turned red neck . . . . .

Cool seat, & it fits right in with the colors. Neat idea on the pockets as well! Has your wife driven the truck yet?

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Are you going to customize the furniture on the fire arm to match the truck.

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Lol. Not much. She's taken it to work a few times to haul some crates. The guys at the woodshop were scared to pull the forklift up to it. She says "its a truck!? And has that bed stuff in it, its okay" .

Love this truck! Looking at the pic you posted of your wife it's no wonder the guys at the woodshop are scared to load her truck!

Re: Crossing over, the 65 rebuild.
Love the seat. Is it real cow hide or synthetic? I was kicking around alligator for part of my seats in the Suburban to add some texture but I like how the cow hide looks.
All around great project. Marc

I just realized that you also covered the riser with the calf hide. Nice touch.
