Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread
Most of these I've found while image searching old trucks on the web and on the HAMB forum. If I run across a good one I think this place might appreciate I'll save it and try to remember to post it in this thread.

Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread
Great pics but I particularly like this one. I worked at a Pure Oil station in the fifties that was situated in a "V" shaped intersection like this and this reminded me of it. While I worked there I drove a new TF 3100 and a new 55 Bel Air and lots of other cars that I wish I had now.

Re: Our Trucks Doing What They Did - Vintage Photo Thread
Thanks, Brian. I really like the Mann Chevrolet wrecker. And the tandem axle dump was a neat piece. They didn't have the "pass through" front drive axle like today's rigs. The two rear drive axles each had their own driveshaft which came off a transfer case behind the transmission.

Spotted this while watching Alex Xydias Presents: The Hot Rod Story on Amazon the other night...
Very cool documentary if anyone hasn't seen it.
