Rear gear is a 3.08 posi and tires are the stock P235/75R15. I think I'm gonna go with a 3.42 rear gear set up if I ever redo the rear end. Want a little more pull when having fun.

So you were running the 3.08 with the 4 speed before? What RPM's were you turning before?

I imagine starting out in 2nd was a bit steep....

Yeah been running those with the 4 speed, could do 60mph and turn 2300rpms. Do 65 and turn about 2600rpms so a huge difference. Never start in 1st unless your pulling stumps out of the ground.

700r4 is a nice upgrade, did you get a chance to check your mileage compared to the 350 tranny?

No I upgraded from a manual granny 4 speed. I haven't had a chance to check the milage yet, haven't driven it far enough. With my old trans I'm guessing the best I ever got was about 15mpg. With this tranny I expect over 20mpg.

Not sure the exact vehicle but it was out of 87-92 Chevy or gmc truck. It's what they call a "K" case trans which is heavier duty than some. Pretty straightforward swap. Just had to shorten the driveline and get the tv cable set right. I can tell you it is a world of difference and soooo much fun to drive now.

Have you ever checked the factory tach with a newer tach?
I know alot of those old factory tachs read high.

I bet you are turning less RPM's than it shows,...

The tach and air pressure gauge were the only part of my cluster that weren't NOS. The air pressure obviously is an original but the tach is aftermarket so it probably is right? The speedo never worked with my old trans but I filled up before going down to Fresno to have KevsClassics do my tilt, about 276 miles round trip, and when I got back I filled up and it took around 18 gallons.

im not even sure I get 14 even with my new rear gears but I do run ALOT fatter tire than most

Ok I have a little goody coming today...In the meantime I am going to have to patch the hole in my high hump.....the truck that is

I have some seam sealer and a buddy gave me some perfectly gauged sheet metal that is galvanized so worry about rust. I was thinking since its gonna eventually be under carpet that I could just seam seal it and screw it down to hump? Otherwise I can weld it in. I was gonna get a low hump patch piece from KrazyRay but because my engine is in the 6 cylinder position I am afraid the low hump will not work? Anyone know for sure?

Personally I would keep the high hump.

I would keep the high hump too, especially if you ever decide to Porterize it

I installed a high hump in mine just in case and that turned out to be the right decision as now I have front/rear dropmembers on order.

Ok so I patched the high hump with the galvanized sheet metal so thats done. Look what else I got today....

Dorman 610-298.1 p/n for a better wheel stud. Its about 1/4" longer than the ones that ship from moser. Just fyi.
