Don't worry, I have another set of tires to play with, .

I finally got the front covers fittted, painted and mounted. I really like the way the clean the front grill area up. I need to get my rubber floor mat installed and then I'll be done with the "cosmetics"........

He was having problems making the notch work on the panel, so I went ahead and modifyed my core support. It took about 30 mins.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

Will that cover take away from any fresh air getting into the engine bay though? Now all the air has to come through the radiator, right?

That's a good thing right?

**

I finally pulled the old rubber floor mat so I can start installing the new one. I was pleasantly suprised when I didn't find any rust other than in the drivers kick panel and that was minimal. I was going to put in some factory tar insulation that I purchased from the board, but I decided to go with FatMat instead. It will be good practice for when I do the Burb, .

Re: 68 S/C update.....

Those covers came out really nice! Do you notice a big difference as far as cooling? If it's significant I might have to do something like that. Also where did you get that cover on your radiator? Thanks for any info!

Re: 68 S/C update.....

I looked at my core support last night. I'd have to move all my ac stuff, dryer, and condenser and brackets down out of the way for those covers to work. Hmmm, it makes it look so clean tho, might be worth it. Damn, more work. Are those covers a 2 piece or 1 piece thing. Truck looks great again. Short bed show twin of mine.

Re: 68 S/C update.....

what I meant was that you really want fresh COLD air for that puppy to make make power. If all the air has to come through the radiator then it's going to be hot...

If there was a way to extend that air filter to reach fresh air (through the rad support or below it) then it would "seem" better... i'm not eninge pro though, just an observation...

Trucks looking sweet
When I put the burb back together, I'll take a look at that.

I'm picking up what you're putting down, , I will eventually try to plumb a "cold air" box for air intake. Which should make a big difference.

Sounds good.

Well I finally got the new insulation and floormat installed. I can really tell the difference on the inside of the cab as far as heat and noise. This pretty well wraps up my interior "remodel", . Just a few more little things and I can call this "Build" complete, .
