Re: Used Parts Build
Also... Ordered these!
They should fit really well. I made my notch too high initially and want to bring it down. Got them from Applied Racing Technologies. They are 2x3x.120 and a bit lighter duty than I want but I will tie them to my four link cross member with some 1.5x.120 tube. The rear of the frame only supports half the bed and the fuel tank. I think it will be fine. Plus each rail weighs significantly less than each of my damn over built notches.

Re: Used Parts Build
I took a day off and worked through the weekend to try to get some work done to it. Ended up being really hot so I didn't get as much done as I wanted. Here are the pics:
Pushed my brother's Nova out, cleaned the garage, and pushed mine it. The differential is all jacked up and it took 4 people to push it up the driveway... Old backhalf Cutting the old backhalf off and found a wasp nest. Holy **** there were tons!

Re: Used Parts Build
A pic with my gf for height reference.
Did it all in 3 days. Need to do all the tube work now. The front has 3 2x4's under the cross member because I need to swap out the oil pan still.

Re: Used Parts Build
Still trying to figure out the tube work in the back. I don't have the funds to buy a tube bender at the moment so I am stuck with either the 90 degree bends I have or straight tube. Any input? I'd like to tie the bag mounts to each other across the center.
Burned in the back cross member: Its just a bit too tight to fit the blazer tank (thing is huge). I can raise it up thought and likely fit it under the bed floor still.

Re: Used Parts Build
Got the bed assembled and squared on the frame. Going to build the rear mounts next. Aired it out for some quick pictures. Need to pull the engine and change the oil pan to get it all the way down.

Re: Used Parts Build
Finished all the bed mounts.
Started playing with the hotside for my turbo set up. Getting tired of working on the frame and suspension at the moment. Luckily I have a ton of work to do...

Re: Used Parts Build
Got some parts and started working on the merge.
I don't have enough hands to hold it in place for the picture but it lines up. Need to tack it together and grind the bottom flush. Then I'll port the flange a bit and weld it all up. I bought a second tank of argon and flow meter because it was cheaper than buying a dual flow meter.

Re: Used Parts Build
Welded the cast iron to the stainless. Thought it came out good. There is tiny crack in along the edge of part of the weld. Going to grind it out and do it again.
Used the other half to keep it hot in between welding

Re: Used Parts Build
Got both sides welded up. Ground out the area that looked liked it cracked on the first manifold. Not sure it was actually cracked once I ground it all back. Used the oven this time and preheated the manifolds to 450. Welded it up, then put it right back in the oven. Slowly lowered the heat over the next few hours. I used my infrared thermometer to make sure each side (cast vs stainless) was at the same temp before lowing the oven by 75 degrees each time. I looked them over this morning before work and didn't see any cracking.
Ordered a VS Racing 44mm wastegate, bellow, and a schedule 10 2'' to 1.5'' reducer to mount it with.
