So now that i have the cab getting closer to being done, i need to now get to work on other things associated to the cab - Stereo box, Bucket Seat locations for reference to where i may install the roll cage that i want but not sure of yet, wiring, and so on.... lol you know, nothing short of $$$$.
Just ordered my TMI low back buckets in black with red stitching... ouch... but Summit was cheapest with free shipping.

LOL not that anyone really cares, i just realized i am not a premium member... damn sad of me. Well that just got taken care of.
Anyways, well so onto the build. So i have the inside windshield area and header will be done today. I plan on install a headliner anyways, so that will help hide my not so great body work. LOL
Order the TMI Classis low Back seats in black with red stitching and they will be here Monday. Autowire wiring harness is on the way. So, now my delema... My plan is to carefully set the cab on its back gently, and get the underside ready for Custom Coat bed liner. i just need to figure out how far to come up. Then flip it back to normal and prepare the inside for the Por 15 poring. It is funny, i ordered 3 quarts of por 15 from Summit, when i got them, one had popped the lid partially and por 15 is everywhere in bag they sent all three in. So i called and explained my issue, so they sent another 3 quarts, no cost. So, now i have 5 1/2 quarts of Por15. So the entire floor, under the dash and possibly part of the firewall are going to get painted with Por 15. This will then leave me with just finish body work and paint which i am waiting until i get all body parts on and test fit and ready, then i will paint at that time.
Gotta love these adventures we get ourselves into. People ask me, "So, after this are you done"? I laugh, ya right, getting the truck done is not like finishing drug rehab.... that rush will always be there. I have 1969 LS that was done a few years ago with alot less $$, so maybe it will get some upgrades, or .... i really like 70's Novas or ......

Did you put the bed liner as a top-coat over some sort of protective base like an Epoxy primer/sealer?

No, i originally had the entire truck sand blasted and shot it right over that. I did the same thing to my 1969. The sandblasting gives it that real rough grip surface, seems to work great.

Well thank you! Happy to help with your motivation. I understand that feeling, i look over what others do to keep myself motivated at times when i just feel like i am spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere. I was really like that when i was doing all that damn Rust repair!! Thought i was going to loose my mind honestly. Now it is starting to get to the fun but also expensive part(s). LOL

I will say this, this bedliner stuff is STICKY before it is dry, then when it is dry, it does not like to come off!! Great stuff..

Well.... It's my understanding that bare metal should always be sealed w/something that's not considered a 'top coat' first (meaning some sort of sealer). Even w/Bondo, high end shops usually utilize Epoxy primer on the bare metal first & put the Bondo on top of the Epoxy. That's how we did it in bodyshop/paint classes @ my local community college. You might sand through some areas, but that's why you prime & seal again before the top-coat.

While the bed-liner is 'protecting' the surface, you have to wonder how well it will seal moisture. I guess I would ask around & see what steps a pro shop would take. Base your level of 'panic' on that information. It may not be that big of a deal.

I did the whole epoxy and top coat from KBS coatings. I like the looks of yours better.

I did some research on this after your earlier post and well you will find 1/2 say to make sure the surface is rough, while others say to prime. The company that sells the coating says that this stuff seals off moisture and so on. At this point, i will just survive with it as is. lol

This is the second time i have used custom coat on the bottom of a cab and so far i really like the stuff. It is thick, sticky until dry, but so easy to apply. Priced just right too.

I will use this same stuff on the inside of the fenders also, but they will be primed just in case.

Ok, gentlemen, i need some suggestions on what length of steering wheel column to get?! What is stock or near that? I am a bigger guy, so i want the steering wheel moved closer to dash.... for "Clearance" besides being a tilt.
Suggestions? 28", 30", 32"?
I would assume 28 and then just extend the Double D as long as needed.

I've got my factory column removed and I can take some measurements when I get home if that would help? As far as any suggestions I got nothing sorry lol!
