Re: AD Truck Project
The cancer has spread to his back in a few spots. So, they are starting spot radiation probably today. He will probably stay with me for a few weeks while they do that. Ive got nearly a month of leave saved up, so I can take him to whatever he needs to go to. That will give mom a break.
If he feels up to it, I will set him up a chair and we can piddle with the gmc and he can get his mind off things. I will be making on push on his car to get a few of the minimum things necessary to get it road worthy so he can maybe get to drive it some. I appreciate the concern guys.

Re: AD Truck Project
If you need a hand on his car to make it where he can drive it and enjoy it then I'll lend a hand or whatever I can do even if it's making a trip to Lawton or hooking onto the trailer to bring it to town

Re: AD Truck Project
I appreciate it man. We will see. Gotta get past this first part. He takes radiation today.
Basically I need to finish up the rockers so they can be at least primered, jam around the front and rear windows so the glass can be put in. Then the wiring harness. Im sure there are some little odds and ends but that is the main stuff where he can legally drive it.

Re: AD Truck Project
I do not think it is ready to paint the whole thing. There is still body work to be done. Just trying to get the minimum done so he can drive it a bit just incase the worst case happens. I probably just need to drive you down there some day and let you take a look at it and give an opinion. We are very new to the whole body work deal.
I am open to all suggestions.

Re: AD Truck Project
Orrie...I could do one or the other but not both...
For the record... I preferred Courtney over AJ on that show. That is cool. It may be a few weeks before he is out. They have to get things stabilized. But as far as that goes, I have keys to the shop. I would need to clean up down there a bit.

Re: AD Truck Project
Believe me if things were a little better I could work it in with a trip to visit my wifes relatives and some of my military buddies in Oklahoma and Kansas. We are kind of isolated here in the mountains. I will channel good vibrations bj's way, I went thru cancer and related lung issues with my Mom for 10 years and now they think my Dad may have something going on too.

Re: AD Truck Project
I got a moment to work on my frame a bit. I got a few brackets off that would be in the way of the crossmember. I also removed the passenger side shock mount.
In the mean time Dad is out of the hospital. He will be staying here at my house for the next two weeks, while he goes through the rest of his radiation. The first thing he did when he got out of the car was good look at the truck. The last bit I got done was some measuring, and kinda mocked up one side of the crossmember a bit.

Re: AD Truck Project
i agree we should have like a saturday or sunday where we all tag team the car or truck or whatever needs to be done. if we all double up theres no reason we shouldnt be able to get the wiring and stuff no problem.

Re: AD Truck Project
Sounds like progress is positive on your end. Thanks, the "good" news is the docs say he will die "with" the cancer, not "from" it, it a slow moving lymphatic type. In his condition and age pheunomia, the gentleman's friend, will be his likely demise. Right now we are keeping hims safe, warm and pain free in an assisted living center.
