Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
What do you anchor the bed subfame to, in terms of support, prior to attaching the wood? Seems like it wouldn't be too bad to support the bed subframe assembly to the truck chassis, but how does the sub frame assembly attach to the bed itself? Thanks!

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
It really does not need to be attached to the frame. This sub frame is solid and attached to the inner bed panels in 8 spots.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
The wood is oak I used red mahogany stain and then I cleared it with automotive clear. I put three coats on it then I cut it with 800 and then 1000 and polish.

I like it. I like it a lot. Hugger orange is one of my all time favorite colors.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer
first off sorry about your mom hope everything goes her way.second truck looks great.i notice in your rendering you have filler plates on the side marker lights that are painted it reminded me of a show truck i seen several years ago that had side markers painted but would light up from behind when turned and could be seen very well in the dark and in the appropriate colors.not sure how it was done but would love to learn how lol.keep up the good work
