Re: 24 years later....here we go
They shipped the fronts immediately and said the rears would follow in a couple of weeks. It has been 2 1/2 months. They generally return e-mails and have been keeping me informed. If I can just get what I have paid for I will probably rethink ordering from them again. But they are very nice wheels...

Re: 24 years later....here we go
I got an email from Coys today that stated that the wheels were there and were shipping out tomorrow. I asked for shipping info so we'll see what happens. Im sure they'll be here in a few days.....

Re: 24 years later....here we go
After that all I have is the color matched Line-X liner, alignment, charge AC, and I'm gonna run it up and have it dyno tuned. Probably overkill for my set up but I wanna make sure its right.
I got the seatbelts back the other day. I ended up going with black which really looks good against the houndstooth. They blend in good with the column and other black parts inside. |

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Ok time for a real update. Sorry, I've been out cruising the town......
Got em mounted and balanced today and took her up for a front end alignment. Took the guy a while but he got the front end really straight with the computer. The steering wheel is perfect and it goes down the road straight as an arrow. Need to add a sway bar but it drives really nice. All I have left is the color matched LineX, charge the AC, and a few adjustments here and there. |

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Hey Bryan, I went back through the last 6 pages to see if I could find the answer, but I couldn't find it. What backspacing did you go with up front, 4.75 or 5.25? I know they only do 5.5 for the 20x10's. I'm also curious how they fit. Do they rub at all? I was looking at the same size tire, but I'm worried they will rub. Are you using any spacers, modified rearend? I don't recall you changing anything, but I neglected to read through your posts for that when I was looking for the backspacing. I know other members on here are running those tires, but there are so many different backspace numbers and combinations, I can't keep it all straight.
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I get everything figured out before I order my wheels. If Coys is going to be that much of a pain, I want to make sure I'm done with them after the first try.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Knomadd - Glad you aked that I was wanting to know the same thing.
Bryan, I was also wondering what drove the decision on 45 series on the front and 40 on the back? Maybe a prefrence or did you find some info on the site that led you down that path? |

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Backspaces are 5.5 rear and 5.25 front. No spacers or mods to rear end. No rubbing on front, turns from stop to stop. I got the tire sizes from a fellow board members truck that I liked the stance of. I like a little more sidewall on pickups

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Thanks Bryan. How about the rear, do you have any rubbing/scuffing with that wide of a tire? I figured the front would be good. I've got 22x9.5 with approximately 5.25" BS and 265/35R22 on all 4 corners of mine right now and I'm tight in the back, but clear everywhere. I want more sidewall and I'm not crazy about the PO's taste in wheels. I'm just worried that the 10" wheel and 295's might rub in the rear. I'm also on a 5" drop. I was looking at 275/45's for the rear, but I'd love to run 295's if they'll fit and not rub.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
It is the stock 71 rear end with the 4/6 static drop from ECE. The 20X10 with 5.5 backspace with a 295/40/20 fit perfectly with no rubbing. There is over an inch between the tire and wheel well on the inside. They are the stock rear drum brakes. They tuck under real nice too....Bryan

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Hey Bryan, I just ran across this thread and wanted to say "nice work and beautiful truck." I read throught the whole thread (may have missed something) but from what I could gather is that this was originally a long bed? Did you install a C-Notch you lowered it? I'm considering the ECE 4" - 6" drop but I'd prefer not to cut my frame. If I do that then I feel like I might want to go even lower. Also, how well would you say the ECE kit rides?
Thanks |
