Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside
Thanks brother, as of now I'm leaning towards doing what mcbassin suggested and throw a set of rollers on there. I don't just want to throw any wheel on and be unhappy. I have the 22" tires sitting here and my options are pretty slim, either I run a set of Coys which I really don't want to do or I go back with Billets. Problem is, I don't trust the companies with the barrel issues right now.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside
A little progress from yesterday, I made a 1" spacer for my trans mount so I could space it up from the Porterbuilt crossmember. I also finally got my sway bar installed. It was about 110 with the heat index yesterday so it was an early day for me.

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside
wow they look awesome! Glad to see you didn't have the problems I had mounting them! Intro is back at the top of my list if I decide to go with Billets again! I don't care how long they take to come in as long as they come in right!
Thanks and I feel like it's going slowly! This frame should have been down on the wheels months ago. The sway bar is the one that came with the Choppin block front kit!

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside
Couple of pics of my new rollers and the frame finally down off of jack stands and layin out on the garage floor. I had no interest in dealing with the billet wheel companies so I went with a wheel that has always been a favorite of mine and were dirt cheap compared to billets.
These are the one piece TTII wheels in 20x8/20x10. I wrapped them in Nitto NT555 G2, 245/45/20 in the front and 295/40/20 in the rear. I will roll with these until the truck is finished and on the road. I'll revisit the billet wheel option at that point if I want to change them. I also ordered some flat center caps too as I have always liked the look of those. I started working on the exhaust this weekend too. I picked up some Black Widow Race Venoms and a 2.5" exhaust builders kit from summit racing. I think I'm going to exit the exhaust in front of the rear tire so I'm starting to plan it out now. Just have to figure out how I'm going to mount the mufflers with the bed cross sills and if I want to go through the bedside or do something else. Either way, that cammed LS should sound pretty nasty with those Race Venoms

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside
Always loved the TTIIs. When you can't decide, TTIIs will always do the trick! Might end up putting some gray TTIIs on my '92 RCSB Sport in the future.
How many times can one say "TTIIs" in three sentences...

I agree, I had TTII's on my silver truck and have ordered them for the current project as well. Looks great, Keith!

The wheels look good! They seem to have a fairly generous dish--how deep?

Re: Project "Redemption" 68 SWB Fleetside
I ordered 18's with the PVD coating, but the rear ones have been on B/O for two months now. Newstalgia Wheel called last week to say it would probably be another 8 weeks. I prefer a bit more rubber for the ride quality, but I may have to abandon the 18" route and go with 20's like you did.

Looks good sittin' on the ground! Still love the TTII look. Even if you keep it that way and run them for a while, it'll still look good!
