I ran across this at an abandoned farm house on a road I hadn't driven in a long time. It's a '47 Kaiser Special and it defines the "Ran when parked" saying. It was obviously someone's very nice classic car when it was parked there. It has historic tags from '96 and looks like that's how long it has sat there. It's all there and solid. I'm sure it had a shiny paint job. All the chrome is perfect. I'm very curious about this. I don't know why it would still be sitting there after 28 years, except the road is a less traveled one with only a few farms on it, just a few houses

That must be a tight group. You know they came out after WW2 in '47 and only made it to '52. But that was longer than the others who started up after the war

Me too, usually. But they'd have to have some serious range to hit me at this place. Not another place in sight. All the farmhouses on this road are abandoned. It's just active farmland now.

If I get around to it, I want to go to the county assayer's office once I get an address and see who owns the land now. I assume the car owner died. Things had been left in the house, but that's all a ruined mess. The building the car would have been parked in has rotted and come down. I think the owner pulled up and parked it there, then had a health issue that took him away and he never came back or he died there. I can try searching by the tag number.

It's missing the hood emblem, but they never did have any trim. By the pictures I've seen they all had four bumper guards and this one's missing it's

I always comment on what others have posted before posting my picture. It really sucks to put a picture up and get no response when you put it up because you figured it would be interesting to others

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Tim, having a '57 Chevy it pains me somewhat to see that poor Chevy just slowly dissolving back to the earth as it is. Look like the rear bumper and the tail light housings are decent from what one can tell in the pics. Too bad as reproduction '57 Chevy bumpers from what I've found leave a LOT to be desired to the reproduction offerings. Reproduction tail light housings also are not the best. Being diecast a lot of plating companies will not touch them for replating. I had both my original front and rear bumpers re-plated 4 years ago and back then it was $1,500 for the pair, nice but not Barrett/Jackson quality. Hate to think what it would be now with how things have gone bat***t crazy with prices now days.

They sure have! I don't know the story on why they are there like that. There's two. I knew the junkyard owner for many years, but he has passed on. I can see them without leaves on the trees and bushes and I always thought they were buried. I finally stopped and trapsed through the overgrowth to get the first two pictures. The third was from the road...duh . I think he had them set aside. I believe they are complete cars. The one you can see best is yellow, so I'm wondering if it was a taxi or maybe a drag car. Bucky was a motorhead racer type of guy. I want to talk to the son to see what he knows. There's another complete vehicle there I've been curious about for years, ever since I saw it hauled in. The whole yard has been cleared of vehicles, save only a few

I figured, well I guess a motor home flat towing a truck loaded with Harley's isn't an odd thing most places? =)

Looks like they've got some sort of hydraulic platform apparatus to lift those bikes up into the truck bed. First time to be seeing one of those. Johnnylift of sorts.

Man you are hard to impress lol!

So I need to look for a motor home flat towing a full size truck that has two Harley’s in the bed plus the truck should be towing a large camping trailer or maybe a large boat. I’ll hit the streets today haha!

Because of some of the things I've seen posted on Facebook, I really don't think it would be that hard to find. Just hang around the campgrounds in the Summer you'll get your photo. Lol

How about one with the pickup having a camper shell and the bikes on a trailer hooked to the pickup hitch?

Towing a boat sounds practical. But there really should be a rack on the pickup for kayaks.

I know a guy who goes to old tractor shows with his ACs and his rig is pickup/tractors on trailer/camper. Pennsylvania doesn't like seeing that and he was made to leave the camper, drive to show, and come back for the camper, back to the show. I think going home he took a chance and went full hog

No Harleys, but here's the large boat and a couple smaller "ride-ables" in the bed. Saw this setup 20 years ago.
