Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I did not take notes, but he did use the rope in the gasket channel, gasket around glass, and he put the bottom in first. After that, he worked his way up, going from one side to the other. He said it would've been better to do it in the spring or summer - it was around 50 degrees, and the rubber is not as flexible as it would be at 80+.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

i did the same with my `64 although not as hard with mine, after a rock came thru it from a belly dump on the freeway the guy( from safelite ) came out had mine out and the new one in in 1 hour by himself, no scratched paint ( not that it mattered the way it looks now ) but was impressed.

The last thing I did was add gear oil to the trans and rear-end. Whoo-hoo! Exciting.

I still can't get used to the smell of the GM posi. additive. Yuck!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Drove down the freeway screamin' at 3000rpm to go get some parts for the 'burb. My turn signals quit working and when I picked up my parts it turned out to be the flasher. Pulled one out of a 68 GMC and popped it in; good to go!!! Thanx Tom!

I started the body work on my 68 Chevy and I bought them a new stable mate, 6 cyl. PS, and shoulder belts, it is really fun to drive, I haven`t had a Nova in 10-12 years and could not pass it up for the price !!

Shoot, glo....
That looks to be a real clean lil Nova....Blue vinyl and matching interior.
That's got a ton of potential.

It looks like those are Oregon plates....
Did ya buy locally or drive cross country...?

As far as my truck goes....I took the '66 and brought home a generator for a special project....and then...I also used it as a saw-horse.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

When I was a teenager, those Nova's seemed to be all the rage. Many boys I went to school with had the rearend about 6" higher with "Hi-Jackers", wide rear tires, hood scoops, etc. It has one of those universally appealing body styles.

I spent all day streighting removing dents sanding buffing and polishing the stainsless steel windshield trim.
Got a call from the painter of my truck to come look at the first painted part.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

I installed my CPP 2.5" drop spindles my son got me for Xmas

Also installed new front stock springs and cut 1/2 a coil off to gain a little more drop. Rides much better than the stock spindles with 2 coils cut on the stock springs... Only had 2" of travel until it hit the bump stop...

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Ya we heated the old rear coils when we order a drop for front and back(coil) and got the wrong rear coils(sent stock) so we returned them and while waiting for the new ones (the front had 5"drop) we heated one coil only and gently put 2 peoples body weight on rear bumper until it dropped and mid way between the 2 coils and had a 3" drop and it worked good and drove nice but we didn't care because it was back end high so we heated another coil and dropped it the same which worked good too but of corse it road bad but good enough until the new set showed up, so if trying this you will only get a 2-3" drop and will ride a little stiffer, easy to go too far though and collape the coil, did it on a beater for fun but jumped on bumper and collaped the coil.

When I bought my truck the front coils were heated for drop and it rode like crap... I converted to a 75 Chevy front and cut the stock coils. It rode better but I made the mistake of cutting 2 coils which is too much...

My rear leaf springs are heated for drop and I think that I will replace them and do an axle flip for the drop.
