I went and looked at this one. He say's 'lots of rust' in the ad. I called to ask what he meant and he said since the top of the hood is totally rusty and the rockers and cab corners are toast. I thought it would be worth a look and might be saveable. It would be, except the rust above the windshield. The floors also needed some help. The good...it is a factory big block automatic with a factory tach. Has some cruise control parts installed. The inner grill was good and the outer had some dings. It has a big heavy brush guard on the front. The doors were dented but not rusty. Cab supports were good. Firewall appeared to be in good shape. I told him he would be lucky to get 1200 to 1500.... I took some better pictures if anybody wants them, PM me your email. |

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Fellas, Help me out here. I just talked to this guy and the truck can be bought, but it's about $1,000 more than I was hoping. Rust in cab corners and he mentioned some crap work to repair the tool box door in the past. Drip rail good, bed is good. Should I go buy this?

Bumper guard!
https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/p...516076927.html Hobrecht push bar off my old 71 k5, much like the old hickey push bars but a little beefier. follows the curve of a 67-72 front bumper nicely, and bolts into factory frame holes. 250$ OBO

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds
Hata - just look at that SPID, wow, nice truck. Yes, it is worth it. Even if it needs cab corners. It's a C20 Cheyenne Big Block Custom Camper Longhorn with cab lights, tach, manual throttle, and an aux battery - good Lordy that's a nice combo. If it was closer I'd buy it with no tires on it... I think it is worth the asking price. I'd still try to work him down based on the body work required to get it back to "good". You can sometimes find decent toolbox bed cuts that can be shipped fairly inexpensively, but expect to shell out $4-500 for a quality not-too-crusty example. Or you can simply replace it with a non-toolbox patch if you don't want to mess with it.

Looks to be a smoking deal on a 67!
https://seattle.craigslist.org/kit/c...516498335.html 67 Chevrolet Pick-up / Motivated Seller , it is being stored outside in the Weather and I have no time or place to finish or work on , most of the dirty work is done just needs finishing 7 years in shop rebuilt motor , 327 but has low end noise which may be nothing more than fuel pump / drove 1000 miles with electric pump with no noise , put mechanical pump in and noise /new windshield with seals / paint / custom work / 2 1/2 inch corvette Hi.-performance exhaust / new battery tray with newer battery / new brakes /bullet proof drive-line / restored window regulators /custom bumper with receiver , new clutch , ring gear , etc. have extra parts (wrap around bumper , instrument cluster , headlight bezels 2 painted and 1 stainless , etc. ) , Moving- rather sell than store $5000.00 O.B.O. I have that much in paint and bodywork , no reasonable offer refused , trades considered

This near rust free 1969 C20 has lived most of it's life in Colorado, California and Alaska. I don't believe it has been driven where roads were salted at all. The truck was home to a twelve foot slide in camper for many years hence the rear bumper extension. The camper was removed to make for easier installation of disc brakes. At the final stage of brake swap the owner was killed in an unrelated accident so the recommendation is to trailer the vehicle to it's new home for final check out. The truck has been driven and stopped in the storage area it is in. Truck is located at Parlin, Colorado and the owner is in the western burbs of Chicago. The engine and transmission have both been overhauled in the past by the professional mechanic that owned the truck. I could not begin to estimate the miles on any of the overhaul work. |
