LSX swap??
Not today, but yesterday I pulled the BBC and trans along with the drive shaft from my 72' in preparation for the new LS1. I de-greased the motor bay and power washed it, but I think its worth letting some super clean sit for a few days. |

Nice! I have this system in my 56. Where did they mount the 2 program buttons? Clean looking set up.

Cursed at it for leaving me stranded twice ... from what I assume was the fuel boiling and vapor locking.. I guess 106* is just too much for the tired old beast...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Got my bed lined up with the cab! Needed a little creative shimming but I think I got it. Ignore the welded seams (from shortening the bed)...that's the next project...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Hit the paint supply place and had them match the color and mix a couple of cans to spray my auto column and grant removable hub.
Turned out to be Holly Green. A '72 f@#d truck color. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Took out the short tail shaft T350 and installed the 9" tail T350
Now the stock drive shaft should work.

I drained the radiator and block, flushed the system out, and poured in fresh coolant and distilled water.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I got both fenders hung and adjusted (had to take one off and touch-up both on the inside), readjusted the driver's door, installed parking brake assembly with cable, wired and installed the side marker lights, installed the tail light and back-up light lenses, installed the hood hinges and hood latch, installed and adjusted the hood (the hood still needs some fine tuning).
