Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Well, at least the pic didn't come out upside down this time.
Is it because I had my phone turned sideways when I posted the pic?
Cut me some slack. until a few years ago all my phones had cords.

It's a far cry from the days when we'd pack up what little our bikes could carry and ride that bike where ever we were going.

This is my workingman's version. Drove the truck once I became a family man

It’s a lost art. The only time I towed my bikes was in March 2019 going to Florida we had 15 inches of snow the day we left . I did tow a trailer with my Glide though

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

Closest I came was when my wolfdog killed a skunk one night in our back yard. Amazingly, he only had a very slight scent on him, not worth trying to clean him. Especially considering his attitude towards getting a bath. Tried that once when he was a youngster, and once was more than enough.

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

good 'ol Fritz has put this to the test a few times in the past couple of years

has to be mixed fresh but works like a charm - pulls the stink right off!

it's the yard, house, garage, etc. that takes a week to completely stop smelling

Stink, stank, stunk – A remedy when a dog is skunked

Dish soap, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, which can be mixed to create an effective solution to neutralize skunk odor. If your dog gets sprayed by a skunk, mix a quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide, 1/4 cup of baking soda and a teaspoon of liquid detergent and apply to the fur. The recipe was developed in the 1990s by a chemist, Paul Krebaum, but other chemists and biologists say it remains the most effective remedy out there.

no pics of his skunk baths, but he loves the shop vac

Even though I've ridden much faster bikes (I worked for a motorcycle shop for 5 years in my early 20s) the funnest bikes I ever road were my Yamaha 2 stroke twins. I assembled my first RD400 from several boxes of parts. Afterwards I still had enough parts to assemble another engine. So then I found one with a blown up engine & then I had two. Then I picked up an RD350 that I fixed up & got running. Then I came across an RD60. Now that's just a single cylinder but had a six speed transmission. That made a neat little pit bike. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of any of them.

I tried my best to pick up a barn find Penton a few years ago. Guy wanted finished bike prices for a non-runner and I could not convince him otherwise.

Glad to hear I am not the only one that got hooked on the smell of Castrol pre-mix back in the day. I had a Yamaha RD250 and a buddy had an RD125. Saw a really nice RD125 on marketplace a few months back and had to talk myself off the edge.

BUT, if I could find a 1974 Kawasaki MC1M like this one I'd probably not be able to talk myself out of it. My favorite bike when I was a kid before I switched to the street.
