Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Cool deal! Man the trim really set mine off!!! It changes the way the paint looks... not sure how to explain it but I love it.
Can't wait to see yours in color... |

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Looks stellar so far! Builds like yours are always big hills or in some cases mountains... lol just be sure to have fun on the way down and make sure those brake lines get bent or you might be in for a crash at the bottom (literally)
On a side note I am very curious how those brackets work with LFD's pedal adapter... Guess I will have to wait till tomorrow and see.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Very cool looking. I can't tell from these pictures though how you are integrating your core to fender support brackets. Do you have that figured out yet? I can't remember.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
Those panels are SWEET!!!
On a side note, I started polishing your trim. It's turning out really nice. When that guy on that video showed this stuff stripping anodizing off, he wasn't kidding. It's a quick five minute job and NO damage to the aluminum. The process is simple. Wash the pieces off, apply this hair and grease remover, let it sit 5 minutes, and rinse. Anodizing is gone. I then rubbed out some of the small creases, tapped the backside of the dings to raise them, filed with a jewelers file, wetsanded with 600 grit, used steel wool, then buffed with black compound. I need to do a finish buff with red rouge and then clear them with coricone non ferrous metal sealer. Here's the pictures, I think we all know what before looks like, but here's after, and the hair and grease remover. By the way, ACE hardware carries it here. |

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread
That itty bitty cab corner piece took me about 45 minutes to do. I stripped a door piece and I've already got 45 minutes in it and it's only half done. I see about 15 hours of work in these, but I have all the buffing wheels to do it, so no cost there.
