Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

I would never pay anywhere near $24k for a 2wd long bed truck. The engine compartment is dirtier in that truck than my daily drivers. My opinion.

A couple of questions for those of you who closely follow the market on these trucks:

1. Does the truck appear to be priced fairly at $24K?

2. The truck does not have A/C but the seller claims it's an A/C cab. How costly and/or difficult would it be to have Vintage Air installed?

It doesn't look like it even has a heater.

I know this is not the "Trucks For Sale" section buuuuttttt, I think number VI this still applies.

Buyers Code of Conduct 67-72chevytrucks.com

I. Do not lead sellers on. If you have no intention of purchasing an item, do not lead a seller to believe you are.

II. Make initial contact with the seller in the thread. Failure to make initial contact for parts you are interested in via the thread will result in account restrictions.

III.Keep in contact with the seller. Ensure you contact them when payment has been sent. Failure to contact seller within 48 hours of posting you will purchase the item will forfeit purchasing rights.

IV.Ask the seller for details and pictures of the item you are purchasing, to help ensure a smooth transaction.

V. Keep a fair timeframe for sending payment. Two weeks is the standard. If the seller chooses to give less or more time, it will be stated clearly in the ad. If you have not sent payment in that amount of time, the item will go to the next inline, or be relisted.

VI.If you do not like the price of an item, look further. Comments on value, condition etc will not be tolerated.

It may not have been put in the gentlest of terms— but he was directly answering the question that was asked “does the truck appear fairly priced at $24k”
I saw the question and chose not to pitch my 2 cents in, but Jake did ask for feedback.
Hope everyone has a great day! Greg

I appreciated the feedback, but I asked about the truck market generally, not if a specific member would pay the asking price. leddzepp might hate blue trucks so to him the truck might be worth very little.

When you say “the market” I assume you are looking at it in terms of an investment, and that’s how I answered your question. If you like the truck why not just buy it? It’s worth what someone is willing to pay for it at the end of the day. If you want an investment, buy a short bed 2wd big block original (or original looking) fleetside truck.

I love blue trucks. I also own 3 longbed trucks.

That truck has a nice paint job on the outside, but for $24K I should be able to pop the hood and be just as impressed.

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Was trying to be gentle- but whether leddzepp prefers blue trucks has absolutely nothing to do with “the market” for a truck with poorly detailed engine.
Maybe I should’ve stayed with my first thought and not commented, problem is I learned a long time ago to not ask a question if I wasn’t prepared to hear the answer. I’ve seen leddzepp post for years here and don’t think of him as one to add comment just to hurt your feelings.
Buy it or don’t. Pay the price or make a deal. Looks like a decent truck in the ad and I’d be proud to be behind the wheel of it, but not at 24,000

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

72 C20 Custom Deluxe Custom Camper $6600
Very nice original interior.
https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/...751026369.html

71 C20 Longhorn w/slots (have to see the SPID but looks like a Cheyenne and it's claimed to be a Custom Camper, which would replace the Cheyenne emblems in 71 - but trim holes appear filled) $9850
https://mohave.craigslist.org/cto/d/...757370237.html

72 K20 $4100
A bit of a crusty frankentruck, 69-70 doghouse, big block, etc - but if you wanted a big block 4x4 project, this might be a good start - comes with bench also and side trim.

I think these pics are deceiving - despite the outward appearance, body appears very solid and interior has been nicely protected and (EDIT: semi- well) preserved. Original 327/TH400 combo. If only I had the room....

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

67 C10 51k mi, special paint, 327/Auto (TH350 claimed as original, but that wasn't an option in 67 that I'm aware, PG or TH400 only for autos - i think...) Anyway, real nice truck. $18.5K
Curious what original special paint was - interior looks original - and inside of bed looks original - would have been a very interesting combo if this is still the original paint (or paint scheme at least).

I don't know for sure but that paint looks really original to me. There is alittle bit of chalk marks on the firewall and wow if someone did repaint the truck to me it looks like the tryuck would have been taken right apart to do it. Maybe seeing first year for 67's , and could you get two tones before 67?, because of the white roof thats where the Special Paint designation came from before they had codes for 2 tone paint schemes.
