Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I used to drive a truck similar to that truck. It was a '62 GMC 6500, 478 V-6 Gas, 5-Speed, 2-Speed, Air Brakes and 10-20 Tires. Was one tough truck. It had a GVW of 32,000.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
In the middle of a divorce many years ago I suggested buying a questionably engineered big block four speed truck for an undisciplined 17 year old was not a wise purchase. My opposition was all the justification needed for the ex-wife to immediately green light the purchase. This is what it looked like a few weeks later.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
From last nights Cruise Night. 64 1 Ton with 35,000 original miles. The guy said he bought it from the original owner. He did a total frame off, and kept everything just like it came new from the factory. It was flawless.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Nice truck, Lucather.
I clicked on your avatar and I really like the way it looks with the "Rat-Fink" business on the door. Do you have any more pic's of that.... That is sure a refreshing look.

I notice that the Bed looks shortened on that truck.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
The interior is exactly like mine too, except I took out the Cigarette Lighter delete cap and put an original 4-Way Flasher unit there.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
A bobbed short bed.
I like it ...then I don't like it. I photo hacked a long bed a while back... kind-a-sort-a like that look too.then I just can't make up my mind And on a rock crawlin 4x4 the look is more functionally appropriate....... Last edited by lakeroadster; 04-16-2011 at 05:06 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
It took me awhile to get past the pretty lady, but I thought that looked shortened.
What happened to Rat Fink?

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
The truck does somehow look much better in the second photo.... think it's the chick or Rat Fink?
Either way this would be a classic example of ....... IT'S ALL GOOD PS: A set of aluminum slots, or perhaps some Moon wheel discs would really change the look of that truck. Last edited by lakeroadster; 04-16-2011 at 05:06 PM. |

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
In the end of last summer a blind driver tried to drive thru us. The truck is now repaired and all rust in the floor is gone. The Rat Fink and the text are going back on the doors. The rat is the personality of the truck.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Thanks for the photos.........
I'm pondering the history on Chev products sold overseas in the sixties. Are there very many trucks on the road in Sweden of that vintage...and just how tough is it to find original replacement parts in your area..? Make sure to update us when you get the graphics back on there.
