Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Thanks Nate.. I dont have a big fancy shop or all the fancy tools to be doing a restoration like this but I make due with what I do have and just go at it.. Its the first one I've gone this deep into and I'm have a good time doing it. Like my signature says... Just gotta get in there and do it. Lots of lessons learned and lots of knuckles busted, but You can never learn unless you "Just Do It"

Just so ~ .
I no longer have / work in a Shop and I never was any good at body works but I agree : dive in and have a go ! . It's usually cheaper and if you enjoy it , can be very rewarding . Your works here are OUTSTANDING .

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Lets see, last weekend I installed my new 2" drop rear coil springs and found it too raise it instead of lowering it. I did some investigating and came up with the springs were boxed wrong, they are from The Truck Shop. I called POL as they are were The Truck Shop gets the springs from and started asking questions about them and they confirmed Boxed wrong.
So now this weekend they come out and will be returning to The Truck Shop for my money back and will go by POL and get the right ones. Pic shows what a 2" drop spring looks like installed |

That looks great! I was thinking about doing this too but I think it might just end up being a road plow.

Cleaned up some excess wiring from tach install, wire loom and such. Adjusted column linkage for 3 speed.

Like that wheel. Is it 14" or 15"? edit: never mind, I see that wheel only comes in 14"

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Been a while in the making, but I got my Vintage Air hose kit crimped up by a local hydraulic shop, buttoned up with the new drier, and vacuumed, oiled, and charged up by my go-to shop for the stuff I can't figure out or do myself. Tightened up the belts cause they were squealing like a stuck pig after sitting for a few months...cool and quiet. Ordering up hose separators and tie downs so the damn zip ties don't break and drop the a/c lines on the alternator pulley and saw a hole in them which caused this headache in the first place.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
I am going to cheat. Yesterday my dad and I got the carb back on, we put the radiator core support rubber bushings in, and we began to put the new-to-me radiator core support on.
Today I have just asked questions and called NAPA for info. |

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II
Got busy doing some body work thanks to the use of George Barris's nephew's shop that is next to his place. Working in 100 weather is no fun. Well it is fun once I saw I accomplished something. And dang why are there so many bolts to the fender. Had to take it off to access some hard to reach dents.
