Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Parts are starting to arrive for my upcoming projects. Add to this my shock relocator kit, and lowering brackets for the front sway.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Today I made up some new lines for the 68 . Old lines were good but someone buggered up the fittings looked like they used vise grips to loosen them . I don’t use the flare tool all that much but it definitely makes life easier

I have that same flaring tool. It works great. Nice job on the bending.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Went to Put on the parking brake cable on the stepper get it in and the end don’t fit the brake handle. Getting real tired of parts that aren’t right .I even cross checked the numbers before ordering it on several sites all said 67-68 trucks . Wondering how I’ll remedy it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Well that was easier than I thought . Little grinding and a few slits and now I’ll just put a tack weld on the cut and it’s done . Took all of 15 minutes so far

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Jacked it up to remove the sway bar and install its lowering brackets. Then I might get going on the steering joints replacement.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
That was on the original SPID and I am adding the Super bit to my truck (just need to add the fender badges). Here's a photo of the cab, the headliner is black too.
For reference, here is my original SPID Here is the new to compare in one post Today I add a "68-72 Chevy/GMC C10 Truck Chrome Ignition Switch Key Chain Scratch Guard" (KEY0849-386) from JLFabrication. Took forever to get it because it was back ordered. My keychain was really working a number on the dash paint. In case anyone wants to get it or something else from JLFabricationn here's a coupon code: THANKYOU5

I got the fenders and grille bolted in loosely. I really need to get this back on the road, it’s sooo close.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Replaced the brake booster today.
Now it really stops! As soon as I'd start the truck, the pedal was sucked to the floor. I was noticing the engine not running as smoothly, and it was a vacuum leak in the booster. Apparently, cause now it stops like it was new and the engine purrs like it should.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Thought I buttoned up the 68 Goldens brakes . Bled the system no air in the system but the rears aren’t working properly I have firm brake peddle the rear is weak if I put it in drive at idle the Speedo goes to 15 mph hit the brake it slows to about 4 or 5mph . I ordered a new master as this one looks to be a rebuilt but it doesn’t look like the correct one . It is rectangular and has two equal rectangular reservoirs. I ordered a new Acdelco

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
The passenger front shoes were heat damaged the drum cut without an issue so that’s a plus . Had to use the grips to hold the old rear rubber brake hose fitting was buggered up so the line wrench didn’t hold , the hard line came right out without any issues as did all the rear lines . Love New Mexico trucks
