Wanted to get going on my list of projects, so I tucked up the front sway bar.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
New master on the 68 Golden . Everything is now new and she stops very well . I’m guessing the master cylinder the PO installed was the problem all along, stopped ok but the rears were not working correctly. I can now lock up all 4 in a panic stop . To shiny though for the truck

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
.
My Vintage Air 4 knob controller had its fan (off, lo, med, hi ) switch go loose last season...it would spin freely a quarter round before it "caught" and would click the switch. Well, just yesterday it let go completely and would just spin, not catch and actuate the 3 way switch. Pulled it and found that each knob has a set screw. The fan knob's screw was backed all the way out! Easy fix and with a little loctite, it'll probably never happen again... -klb

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Fixed the trans detent on the 68 golden steering column . I couldn’t get the shift lever to pull back and it really didn’t like to go into gear or into park . Took it all apart it’s amazing how 55 year old grease turns into concrete . Had to clean everything with PB Blaster and a wire brush . Lubed it put it back together and now it works like it should .

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Replaced the 2 core radiator that was in the truck with a new 4 core from Summit. That plus a new thermostat & radiator cap, I should be running nice and cool now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Not necessarily to my truck but for my truck eventually. Buddy has a 68 frame that was bent in the front and he is taking all the useable parts off before he tosses it. I grabbed the auto transmission crossmember and the auto shifter linkage pedestal thing on the frame. Two more pieces down towards the manual to auto swap.

Installed my shock relocation kit yesterday. A little tough dealing with the rivets from below, but it worked out great.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
Used that same kit on my truck, but I was fortunate in the bed was off when I did it. Have put almost 2,000 miles on the truck in the last 18 months.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter
I didn't do anything significant to the truck but drove it the long way home after work yesterday morning. Beautiful sunny Sunday morning with very minimal traffic about at 7:00AM so perfect day for a 75 mile drive out of the City and cross country to loop back another way. Truck was down for 18 months and our drivng season here is quickly coming to and end so been driving it as much as I can since back on the road in June.

Finished the engine bay, the battery proved a challenge to buy.
