Thanks watahyaknow, but I already bought the transmission and I am also trying to keep everything new or rebuilt on the truck.

This is an extremely beautiful truck, you can tell it's built w/attention to detail...not to mention some killer body mods. Following along with your build gives me even more drive to work on mine. Nothing better than seeing a classic drive down the road. G'luck with the completion and once again, amazing truck!! Can't wait to see it altogether

Re: 58 GMC Project

I actually live 20 mins south of Fresno...but most people don't know where that is, so I say Fresno. I work in Fresno, though...near the airport. Who did the bodywork for you? I'm doing some of the bodywork on my truck, but I was trying to find a place that I could take it and get some help with the remaining bodywork.

By the way, my name's Chuck.....and I will look for you at local shows, I'm not sure when the next show is, but I do know of a GoodGuys show in Pleasanton in Nov. It's a huge show and real good turn out, and the fairgrounds are beautiful...a show you should consider.

Hey Chuck,

The body and paint was done at Dave's Custom Paint. He's in Clovis on Barstow just east of Clovis ave. He's not cheep, but he does really nice work. I know about the Goodguys show in Pleasanton. I hoping my truck will be done by then, but I'm not sure. Do you ever go to Caluches (the old Bob's Bigboy show)? What year of truck or you working on?

Re: 58 GMC Project

Is that the one on blackstone, between bullard and barstow? If so I haven't been out to that in a couple years. Every once and awhile I'd see some classics at Fat Jack's....but that's been awhile too.

I'm building a 1965 C-10 big window 2wd...it was a long bed, but I've cut it down to be 6" shorter than a short bed. Chopping the top about 2", built 2x4 frame rails for it with airbags and laying it over 22s....lot of plans, but it takes awhile.

Look forward to seeing more progress on your truck....ya, the name alone sounds expensive, but nowadays everyone's expensive. Which is why I'm tyring to do as much as I can myself. For the knowledge and to save $$

Re: 58 GMC Project

Okay, I was going to take the chassis to the body shop today, but I had to go into work today because two guys called in sick. So that shot my plans. I'm going to take it in Monday morning to get the cab on. I did get the new TCI transmission install along with a new B&M 2000 stall Hole Shot torque converter and a Derale heat sink trans cooler.

Cal,

Do you have any close ups of the radiator and AC setup. Is it a stock Radiator or aftermarket. I need that setup for mine.
