OMG! Someone stole my truck and put a roof rack on it! LOVE the rack, BTW... I knew right away that it wasn't really my truck, because I am not missing that piece of trim, my missing piece is on the driver's side! BTW, I have the same hood patina, it just doesn't show up well in this picture.

I wonder what my truck looks like right now? Something like this...

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

That is definately a good looking 72 burb you have there 72chevy suburban! Green with the white top must have been pretty popular. I also saw a blue burb on ebay that had the hood patina'd more than the rest of the truck. That type of paint must be heat sensitive or something.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Thanks Cameo... And to think that I was going to paint the truck until everyone went to patina... I guess you just wait around long enough and anything will be in style.

Still don't know what the truck will look like when its done but I told them that it has to be green!. What are your plans for your truck?

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

My current plans are to keep it all stock, and kind of use it as my swap meet/cruise night/ project car hauling vehicle. I really want to keep it in the original paint but as of now I have no where to keep it inside, and I dont want the rust on the hood to start pitting. Not sure if I should just paint the hood or leave it as is. No matter what I do for now I plan on eventually restoring it. How about your plans?

Well... My plans were pretty much to leave it all stock, but I ended up winning a local Radio Contest and now my Suburban is getting "rocked". Note that I didn't say "pimped" God only knows what will happen to the truck because I only had "input" into how I wanted the truck to be done, but it is all decided by the shop and then they will unveil it. I'll spare you the details, but here are a few links if you are interested...

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Thats pretty cool 72 chevy suburban! Hope it turns out the way you like. Personally I am too much of a control freak and would never be able to have someone else re-do my vehicle without me knowing what is going on. Can't wait to see what you get back.

Yeah, I am having a tough time with that as well... I had to fill out a profile sheet for them listing my interests and tastes and I came prepared with a spreadsheet of colors, features and how I would prioritize, based on cost. I think it was more input than they wanted.

I am ok with going custom on the truck and I realize that this is what the shop specializes in, I just don't want it to be pimped out. The radio station and shop are both aware of that and they both told me that they have the color scheme laid out on some concept sketches and they know that I will be happy with it.

I am under contract to keep the truck in its current condition and show it at five local shows and one National show a year for the next 2 years, so my recourse will be to sell it after that time if I don't like it.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Ok I guess I'll play if Tahoe's are aloud. It is a 72 C20 or 30 but will be down on 5 lugs soon enough thanks to my Bud Nate. It has been converted to a 4dr and shortened to my vision of a Tahoe. It has a 2005 5.3 and 4L60E sitting in the wings waiting to be dropped in. It will get all three rows of seats out of a newer Tahoe/Burb that will be leather and full power. Planning on 22/20 combo for wheels depending on the side wall or it may end up with 20/18 if needed.
