Re: Post your C/L finds here for all to see
It was a base model, but a very cool truck at a decent price, so am not surprised. I have to say, I wonder why the burgundy 75 hasn't sold - or why it's being resold, or whatever is going on with it. It's low miles and, although the pics in this ad kinda stink, the last time I saw it listed, the pics were big and it was very nice. I kinda passed because was looking for a camper special, but not looking at all at the moment. Love the square Ks, do wish I'd kept my 76! I think the 87 is a very fair price assuming it's as good mechanically as it looks. My choice would be the yellow 73 (73-74 are my favorite squares) because it checks all my boxes (camper special, K20, yada yada) and the price isn't bad at all. Would be a nice project. But, it looks more like a 79 to me.... A bit frankentrucked perhaps, but that's cool, he's not asking for a fortune for it either.
EDIT: As a matter of fact, I just happen to have some better pic of that 75 K20! Here's some from when it was for sale some time ago in case anyone is considering it - I think it's pretty sweet. You don't often find a woodgrain dash or door panels in that condition... Last edited by jocko; 01-19-2019 at 02:58 PM. |

Well, you have a second chance, but one day of hesitation just cost you $5K....
What was that show with the dolphin back in the early 70's? Oh yeah, Flipper! Never liked it then either. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Chevro...3:pf:0&vxp=mtr |

Re: Post your C/L finds here for all to see
It hurts to see that happen....
But, he had the balls to go for it and even if he only make $1k it’s still a reward for being fast on the draw, That truck would be my choice too.

Re: Post your C/L finds here for all to see
simplicity, I'd imagine. most of the pain of the frame off process comes in getting the cab off, all the connections, steering, etc etc. Just guessing though. I'd have preferred this one be untouched and at a lower price so I could do it how I wanted to. But, looks like the seller did a pretty nice job. I could only guess at engine's originality, you'd have to ask him, and he may not even know as the third owner. Not sure if he included it in the refurbished bunch of stuff, but he did paint the air cleaner! K/V30s are a fairly rare truck in good condition - and prices reflect that. Truly a HD truck with a 454 , TH400, and NP205. But, for my purposes, a K20 works well enough, but there's a certain cool factor associated with a K30. Would love to have bought one new, stuck a GV behind the trans and never, ever sold it. But, clearly I didn't have that kinda foresight!

Re: Post your C/L finds here for all to see
that 83 k30 for 21k bucks is a rip off in my book . look at the firewall seam . that cab has got to be a patched up / bone bucket if i had to bet . . that seal looks like heavy rust / bubbling / ready to pop . but maybe i am missing something . . . thats just a red flag for me living in the north east rust belt . i have seen a lot get puffy there and the cabs were junk .
