Oh sorry the max width tire I wan to go wide without altering the body. If I go with a nine inch wide rim, what is the max width I can do without scrubbing my tires?

Depends on how low you want to go I have a pair of 275/55R17's on a 9 inch rim with a 5 inch drop in the rear but I had to roll the rear fender. That is a low as I can go right now without getting some bodywork done.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Too many factors there... simplify... set the truck where it's gonna ride... measure from the inside most obstruction (frame?) to the inside of the fender and subtract clearance..
(I use 3 inches)
My rear tires have almost a 22" section width but my frame isn't stock. I could squeeze a 15" tire in there when the frame wasn't altered..

Nice looking Burb! Do you have any more pics? Would be nice to see them in a larger scale as well.

btw, you have to be a subscribing member to post something for sale...otherwise, they'll remove your post(s)...just a heads-up

Very nice truck, no corners cut on this build, I just checked out your photo account. Congrats on the final product. I hope to tear into my 65 shortbed like this with my son when he gets old enough, he's 4 now so there's still time:-) Great work.

Did the rears fit with no tub?

Yes, the rear wheel tubs are stock. I did trim about 3/4" from the lip on the wheel well opening. From the factory there's close to an inch and a half lip so there's still plenty material left. If I remember right the wheels are 4 1/2" backspacing. I used the factory rear end, I just had the axles redrilled to five lug. A lot of people swap to a '71/'72 rearend which is wider and in which case would probably need a 5" backspaced wheel. There's not a lot of clearance but enough. I really like the 10" wheel but didn't want to widen the tubs, this combination works well.

Re: How about some pics of Static dropped 60-66

Thanks guys. My uncle bought this truck new and I've had it since 1988. My son has claimed it as his since he was big enough to talk so I just left it on the back burner. 4 1/2 years ago when he was 12 he started whining to start working on it. Originally we were just going to paint it and put wheels on it but it kind of got out of hand, lol.
