Re: 72 k20 project

are you looking to bag the rear, or just link it? if its a coil rear 2wd to start with, the bag mounts i have drawn probably wont work with the frame. otherwise i think itll be fine as long as you are not shooting for 2495" of lift. this should sit close to level or a touch high in the rear at ~ the same height as my 4" front springs

I'll look today. I think it is a coil rear.

By the looks of that cross member, it looks like coil to me.

Re: 72 k20 project

I'm pretty sure it is. I want to say i have seen trailing arms under it.

I haven't read up much on the 4wd swap. I didn't know the coil trucks were unliked for the swap

It's just more work is all. If you go air ride, it won't matter.......

Re: 72 k20 project

so new they still have the stickers on them. crimeny

mocked up the pass. axle brackets

and made some mock up links so i can continue working without having to possibly miscut my DOM

i still need to check the fore and aft location of the axle but this should be the ride height geometry

Re: 72 k20 project

What is that you have on welded on the old-no-longer-needed spring hanger? is that for reinforcement or repair?

Re: 72 k20 project

Nope. i think it is close to what i would expect the 4" to be. it was really high in the rear with the springs. its still a little ass high, but not so much.

Great work. This is going to be a killer set up when you're done.

Bigger than a 6.2L radiator at 34X20X2.375. Looks like We will be looking for a second Gen since both mine and my brothers have quick release passages in them. Thanks!
