Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...
Thanks guys! I might just end up liking it anyway and might be tempted to keep it! I need to keep an open mind because I was already convinced that I wouldn't like it...
I appreciate the support...

Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...
What they said in that link was very promising...sounds like you or the radio station put a bug in their ear and they want a satisfied customer. (Or they read this thread and thought better of their plans....or that's an april fool's joke and it's still being pimped )
It makes sense to me for them to do a nice restoration on yours with a few subtle mods...you will be happy...they will show the quality of their work, and when you're out there at the shows you're required to attend, you will be sounding their praises, not saying how "clownish" they made your car look

Thanks guys...
I see the update as a promising tidbit of info to make me believe that they are working on it. Hopefully I will get a higher quality update soon. John

Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...
I have at least a dozen different pictures in my head of what your burb' is gonna end up looking like. After reading that there's a tv and a bar in the back, i'm kinda struck. You know the back windows will be limo tinted with the bar being in it. So, probably some funky lighting for the bar. I'm picturing some kind of weird 2 or 3 toned color design for the interior. I'm praying they fight the urge to put any sort of tribal or weird kustom paint sceme on it, but i don't know. I find myself at work thinking about your ride alot man. We're all anxious with you man.
When it's done and you go to pick it up. Take a dozen cans of flat black with you in case the paint is really lame. That'd tick some people off. Imagine rattle canning their freshly "pimped" burban. haha. Last edited by exmonkeypunk; 06-06-2009 at 10:31 PM. |

Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...
Just a quick blurb from the radio station saying that they are making progress. I was nervous that the shop's website was down for a little while, but I called there and they are open for business...

I think I would be more annoyed than nervous at this point. Unless they are doing a full concourse resto, Id think the truck should be done by now..

I mean nobody's expecting a week long "Overhaulin" but a year is a bit much.

once is done I guess that it will have some great work done, but I would rather pay for it and enjoy my vehicle as I do not have the patience to wait and not know what is going on..

Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...
i laughed when i saw their stage 3... that's my stage 1 lol.
But they are a professional shop, so i'm just being picky. I would still very much like to see at least an artists rendition of what they wanted to do to it and what they end up doing to it. I bet if they had their way, the burban would come with xzibit and mad mike in your glove box. scary thoughts rollin' through my head right now. lol. A year is quite a long time for a "real" shop to take, but, your patients will be rewarded so greatly in the end i'm sure. If it isn't, at least you know your body work will be all smooth for a respray. lol. |

Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...
They said that they had to push the finish date back because there was alot of rusty bolts on the suburban. GIVE ME A BREAK!! I have worked with total rust buckets and cherry originals, and the time difference in stripping the two ends of the spectrum is about a day, maybe two. Plus I doubt the hardware was that siezed judging by how solid the body looks in its factory original paint. Get the burb done guys!
