Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
No, there is a rubber seal that fits over the fill pipe/vent assy on the interior bedside. It seals around the hole going out to the gas cap. Also, a rubber seal and plate that seals the fill pipe/vent assy where it goes through the bedfloor. I have the originals, but am looking to replace them when the bodywork is completed. My originals are in sad shape-I guess just lucky to be there after 41 years!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
First big tree in the backyard came down last night! Making room for the new pole barn for the K5! Maybe another one tonight, if it stops raining. About 6 more big trees to take out to make enough space for the barn. Can't wait to get it done!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
2 more trees came down and got cut up last night! Huge red pine and a medium size maple. Man, space is opening up! No time to work on the K5 fuel tank though, but that's ok!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Sorry if this thread is going stale, but real busy with the barn build. Got 4 more big trees down tonight, wow, a lot of work. 1 huge red pine to go, gonna have to hire this one out, as it is right next to my existing building. Once that tree is gone I can start to break ground. After that it should go fast!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Thank's Red. Probably GM parts, but good luck finding some NOS. I will try to get some pic's up this weekend so everyone else knows what they look like. Mine are still somewhat intact, which is amazing considering the rust on by bed back there. Anybody else know where you can get these seals?

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Heres a couple pics of the tree removal and a couple of the fuel fill assy. The fill mounted is my original, and the one with the round flange is one I picked up from Sharpie. The round one wont fit right, so I combined my old one with the one from Sharpie to make a good setup. Also pic's of the rubber gaskets I have been trying to find. Happy 4th of July everybody!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Just wondering if you checked on getting any sheet metal or parts from gmc pauls as he is closer to michigan? I don't know if shipping would be cheaper or not? Just wondering? I am in same boat as you and will be starting a build sometime.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
I had to wait two months to get my double shear x-over high steer kit from them. I ordered them on 4/12/11 and didn't receive them till 6/2/11. They took my order ovet the phone and I paid right then and there with a order number and everything. I called back two weeks later just to get an ETA/update and they didn't know what I was talking about even with the order #, they LOST my order but still had my money LOL. So the order went back in again. I checked back once a week and heard all the excuses in the book from "we just had to hire a new welder" to "we'll ship you what's ready now and ship you the rest at a later date" but nothing showed up so I had to call them again, and again, and again. But eventually I got everything I ordered including D60 and 14B diff covers.
It's a shame really, they have the best BEEFIEST x-over kit on the market and the best price for what you get HANDS DOWN. The parts are precision machined and flawless. Once I had them in hand I saw the quality of the craftsmanship and the amount of time it took to make these things. The diff covers are friggin bullet proof and fit perfect right out of the box (the little skulls are kick a$$). The arms bolted down with the studs and lined up perfectly with the upper king pins. The studs they use are ARP and are the best you can buy, and the fasteners were all high grade. My vote is they are a young business that's trying to design and provide the best quality parts they can to this market. They just have to work out the customer service side of the business, which in reality is the hardest part in my opinion. Just give them some time, they'll deliver.....eventually.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Thank's NG67! I have been looking for some feedback from people that have dealt with them. Glad to hear the quality is there, kinda why I went with them anyway. I have time to wait, it's just hard when they have your money and you have too wait. I got my bed floor and frt inner wheelwells today from WES! Very nice, packaged good, and shipped truck frieght resonably. Gotta get this garage built so I can start going at it!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Reinstalled the fuel tank tonight. All new rubber lines and clamps. No leaks so far, but only put in about 3 gallons or so. Poured a little gas in the carb, and she fired right up! Great to hear it roar again! Able to be mobile again! Pic's will be coming!

Dumped another 5.3 gals in today, looks good. Hooked up the ground wire and gas gauge works now! Progress, although small, but makes me feel better!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Even your small progress is more than my progress! LOL! I don't think I've worked on my blazer for 5 mos. or so. I've just been too busy with work. I WILL get after it soon! Glad to see you are still making progress.
