Im happy for you I know you are very excited to have "The Screamer" running and driving. Oh hey did you ever find out why your Transmission fluid was low, did it leak out, or dump out when you installed it? Last edited by Xeen; 09-15-2012 at 07:25 PM. |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Well today I took the leaking heater core out and put one that I tested to be good in... Well it looks like I'm a ****ty heater core tester... So the "new" one leaked as well... So now I made my own connector for the new heater "bypass" lol I must say it's working beautiful... So I don't have a heater. I'm planning a 70 mile trip to go to ECE in Fresno CA, I hope to get a new "s" plenum box for the underdash AC boxes, an get the AC, heater and defroster hoses as well. Next on the list is brake and lamp inspection (hopefully) next weekend so maybe next saturday I will be right at the threshold of legal!

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well guys ive been thinking about the wood floor.... when i first started building the truck i HATED wood floor.... but then i started to warm up to it... and now im thinking maybe i might want to go with a steel floor... i dont know for sure, what do you guys think? ( im really terrible with making a choice once ive narrowed it down to two options)

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
I personaly like the wood bed because its old school. I say go with what you like and its not like you need to decide right this second there are other things you can do on your truck while you are deciding. |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
Hey Rick;
Have you considered doing the cable release hood modification its not that hard to do and will keep people from as easily accessing your engine compartment. Im going to do it to mine and thought you might think its a usefull and cool idea. Here is a link so you can check it out, and note the second design with the fabricated extension welded on to the back of the release mechanism to make it easier to pull the cable. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=458433 |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
To me wood bedfloor is classic. I wish mine was wood instead of the rusty steel floor.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
well i might just ditch the 350 and go with a 700r in the 67. the 700r was fresh rebuilt, we had it rebuilt about 4 years ago. so the truck is legal to drive but it wont shift into 2 gear. IM NOT driving it at half the speed of smell haha... so it looks like i got a 80% chance that im putting the 700r in..... ill keep you guys posted.
BTW DMV would not register my truck and give me plates because i dont have 2 matching VIN's..... the glove box was from another 67 and when i got my new cab it didnt have a spid on the glove box so i wasnt gonna use it. for now i have a permit, until November 21, 2012. |

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
You can get a new SPID printed here...
http://www.outintheshop.com/2.html The blank SPIDS are also available through LMC. I have a couple and will be using one to make my own replacement showing all the options I currently have, etc. I doubt DMV would notice or care if it's not the original.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"
I don't know. My CA DMV is so stupid. I am going to have chip flyer make a SPID for me though I will right down all of the options that my truck has and I'll put that on the truck.
