that pedalcar looks realy nice ...... maibe its a collectors item , i think i had one myself in my younger days only with a plastic body

looking at that rear with the box it mightve been a firetruck version when it was new , i think summit has those pedalcars still in there toysection

Thanks guys, i thoughti would show you something else that i am working on, a 69 camaro with over 100k in by the time it is done. i am currently doin a complete DSE suspension kit in it. Here is a couple pics. it hs a aluminum headed L88 from 69 with about 650hp, moser 12 bolt, 4l80e trans, rims will be 18 by 8 and 18 by 12 in the rear.

James just read through your build, and my lord you are quite the craftsman! Love your truck and more so your attitude about it. Its a truck build it to look killer and perform better then ever and just drive the pi$$ out of it. I have to say this is one of my favorite builds and I look forward to seeing it complete. You have definetely helped boost some of my creative juices and wish I had half the talent you have. Hopefully I will have mine "project Fed UP" a quarter of the way done by the time you are winning trophies with yours keep on truckin!!

Thank you, i appreciatte that, i am fairly humble, and think that i am ok at what i do, i realize i am good, but it is nice to accept a compliment here and there, i will have to check out your build. And yes, i built mine to drive her, the way they are meant to be driven, HARD!

Well guys, i have something to say to all of you. This was an extremely hard decision for me to make but one i had to do, as of lately i know most of you know that i have had problems with my arm doin what i do for a living. I also have hardly been on here lately, so sorry about that. I have kinda felt lost. But it is good news for me, and the family and my future.

Well, in my trade, there is only three places to go, or should i say move up. Buy a shop, become a shop forreman or work for the insurance company as an appraiser, and around her we only have one insurance company SGI, government run.

Well, latley by the end of a work day, my arm has been killing me and i wanted to go work in the shop BAD, but i could not, had to let the arm rest, well the day before x-mas i had a job offer. I went to it and listened to what they said, after x-mas, i went back and they made an offer to me. One the i can not refuse. I loved what i did for a living but i have to take care of myself first before my boss. Well i went and sat down with my boss and said that "i have something to tell you, and this is kinda hard for me to do". He looked at me and told me, " I alreadly know James, and if you do not take the job, I am gonna fire you so you have to" well that was my decision.

As of wensday i am now a Gov't employee doin appraisals. The wage is good, great benefits, pension, every second friday off, MY "DOR" or day of rest as they call it. The transition has been exceptionally hard for me but i am getting there, at least i know all of the other appraisers there, makes it easier that way.

So i am no longer in the body work/ restoration trade, but do not fear, I am still gonna do it at home at nite, i have more ambition now than ever towards working at home, makes me feel good to have my hobby back as a hobby and i can enjoy it. Trust me, working on cars for a living is great, but you also get nowhere, no pension......... This was the best decision i could ever make. Also the hardest, but i am sure it will be worth it.

One morre thing to say, since my wife has gotten back to her job from mat leave, they have treated her like crap, she lost her desk...... everything, and she was one of their top accountants. So as of monday she also has a new job, better pay, pension, the works also and it is only 2 buildings from me. Gotta love that, she is so excited and nervous.

All i can say is that 2010 wil be a great year over 2009, at least for us. Just had to let you all know.

This is the same thing I thought the first time I saw his build. It is actually the reason I decided to go as far into the 69 project as I have. I stayed up till 1:00am the first night trying to get through the whole thread.

James, GOOD for you! I'm 64 years young and have been a car guy for 52 years. Cars are best enjoyed as a hobby. Your wife and daughter are the purpose and most important reasons to stay healthy. Body work is hazardous. I've lost parts of both Lungs and my Bladder to Cancer brought on by related chemicals used in your former trade. You are about to make a Negative, (your injury) into a positive by starting a new career. (Sorry if I'm Ranting.). All the best in your new career! Al W.

Great news. The statement above nails it. I was in a similar situation when I was younger, basically a mechanic (steam systems, nuclear power, welder, refrigeration, etc) in the Navy, then a maintenance supervisor at a couple food plants after. Always loved working on my truck, but didn't want to make a living doing that work. I could have been a welder/pipefitter, but decided early to let that go. Could have worked at nuke plants, and would have, but at the time jobs were few and far between. Which in my mind was a blessing BTW. I ended up transferring my skills into the insurance business as a boiler inspector and never looked back. Can't imagine doing anything else.

Slick. Thank you very much, i am a very humble person usually, but thank you for the compliment, i appreciater it. You are right things are getting better for us. And this is going to be very good for me and the family. And as of now i have started working on my gut, you know everyone at work has one , so i suppose i should have one also. Gotta match the rest of the co workers,. LOL. Yup that is not gonna happen, at least not on purpose.

Well, The other day I got sick of putting my el cheapo bead roller in the vice so i whipped up this stand in 20 mins. Works way better now. And here is some more teaser pics of that Camaro i am doing. I left work and the owner decided he wants me to finish it, so i have to finish the other two first and then it will be coming to my house to finish. Makes me happy, i really did not want to leave this project.
