Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Nice work! We went opposite for the same reason you mentioned about the windows. The claw is in the cab and the pin is in the door on ours. There's pics in my thread. That's why I love this stuff! 100 ways to skin the cat! Keep those pics coming!

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Well a little progress...Had to modify p.b. hood hinges since I welded up wire channel.....little tweakin'...and boy do I like um'.....Only thing is hood open height but man they open and close perfect...the mods were on the outer bracket...had to cut the bracket off at bottom so ended up a 2 piece bracket.....but still works well..........jim

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Since U brought that up...having a rub problem on pass. side where hood "fold" is ...need to pull front of tubz away from fender 1/4"...may have to slot a hole or 2....OUCH there goes your reputation.....lol......but then again it is an aftermarket hood!!!........jim

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
dang aftermarket hoods.....LOL, my go to statement in this case is they fit pretty darn good for aftermarket parts...LOL, they fit better than most of the metal aftermarket inners i have installed !!

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
In fact way better than hood in pics...I am going to switch mounting plates to original hood as we speak....thought I would try new hood with out all the cleanup work....but way more work to make this new one fit....1 step forward..2 back...lol...jim

Re: 68 aka "Chained in Porterbuilt Prison"
Little progress in the paneling process up front..slow..tedious ...but worth it in the end...having to plan for hoses..wiring ..etc...as U go......pita!!.....
1st pic of stock "pooch" of fender on dr. side..moded pass. side before welding...then a 3/16" rod welded to core to form cover or lip for panels..little trick I learned years ago...able to put fender side panel under stock "lip"...this is a mock up waiting for dimple dies to arrive!! I'm going to order the grill top enclosure ..but I've always not liked the top of it having edge exposed...will do the 3/16" rod trick on grill side too in order to clean that up...lots of work... by the way that pass. side fender panel will have another 4 spot bulkhead fitting installed .....to connect from the one under the pass. end of firewall...hoses routed over Slosh Tubz (another head swell for Mike..lol) inside fender...I know..lots of connections but U can install these before Tubz and forget em....later jim
