Re: Random pictures that you did not take.

Miss the speed shops. We had several cool ones in the greater Seattle area.

I dont remember the year, but possibly early 80's? Several of us went to the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals in Sacramento and we went to Tognottis, man that place was enormous! Put all of our places to shame lol.

I miss all the independent speed and Harley shops. That used to be something to do, stop in just to browse, chat, and maybe even buy something. And when you did buy something, it was from a guy you had gotten to know, knew your vehicle, and knew the direction you were taking it. Then there was always that thing called good advise

Re: Random pictures that you did not take.

I still go to East Coast Speed it’s a local speed shop I believe started in the early 60s .

“ECS Auto Stores, Inc. has been an automotive aftermarket retailer since 1967. Operating with the original owner, same location, and one of the original co-workers, we feel we know a thing or two about parts, service, loyalty and dedication. We bring to you over 125 years combined automotive experience and knowledge”
https://ecsautostores.com/about/

Real knowledgeable and they build circle track cars in the back shop

My go to for the Harley is East Side Speed in Ellenville NY . They work on all bikes but they specialize in Harley

In Dallas we had Hot Rod Exchange, a used parts store.

Big Mike Burkhart's Auxillary Gas Tanks. https://www.nhra.com/news/2013/legend-big-mike-burkhart

Raymond Beadle's Blue Max Speed Shop.

Larry LaDue, The Tennessee Bo-Weevil pilot's Mini Truck Specialties

Super Shops in Richardson.

Flash Gordon Mineo's shop in Rockwall.

I worked next door to Blue Max and for Larry LaDue.

So weird you mentioned Blue Max. I stumbled on a pic and saved it just the other day. I had forgotten all about Blue Max, I sent it to buddy.

I had friends who put that kind of combination on their cars, though they didn't generally lift them that high.

I built a '72 Chevy Vega with a 305 SBC engine and a 350 THM trans. At least it was a wagon, so the popo could have thrown the arrestee into the back of the car.

At least the popo would have a better chance of running down the offending vehicle. That would make a great K-9 unit...for a Chihuahua

Vintage tools like that always make me think about when it was new and what a labor saving device it was. Before it you most likely had 5 or 6 people cutting and mashing potatoes but now you could do the same work with 2. One feeding potatoes in and one cranking the handle. I'm sure that they switched jobs as the crank man got tired.

I do the same. In Baltimore they have the museum of industry. There's a complete canning operation set up, among other things
