Re: Daverods 52
I looked at Jeffs thats were I got the idea. He just kinda reamed the tube out. I was going to ask him how he did it. I think he only has a computer at work though.

Re: Daverods 52
I've been told it won't fit before, but it always does. One way or another the $8 bearings going to work.

Re: Daverods 52
Dave,
I took the column to a buddy's and turned it on his lathe. I was going to take it to an muffler shop, but it was on a Sunday and nobody was open. Thank goodness friends can't close. As a last resort, you could probably go very carefully with a die grinder. It's kinda hilbilly, but far within the scope of, "something I'd do". As for joints, I used the universal joint from a c10 van. I remember it being cheap, but can't remember how much. I think I spent like $40 bucks on the whole steering solution. Hope that helped, Jeff |

Hey on your a-arm header issue, a set of speedway tubular arms would clear.. they are ~45 dollars an arm

I just notched the one a little. Turned out fine. That does sound like a good price though.

Re: Daverods 52
Put my bearing in the column. Hooked up my steering. I just put 4 slits the column tube, put the bearing in and welded it up.

Re: Daverods 52
While you are in Yuma this winter, get some Mexican wool blankets. They work really well.

Re: Daverods 52
Well if I was $$$$$ I would get a HD. But I guess I really just want to be like you. I think a somthing like a 2003? Road Star is going to be more realistic. Someting along those prices, I want somting I can ride on long trips. I need to make some easy $$$ first. What happened to all the easy money anyways?

Re: Daverods 52
I'll save it for you. I don't know how good it is. When I bought the truck it did'nt have an engine. I'll fill it up and see how it is. It looks good.
