That is still the best looking stretch/EC I've ever seen on one of these. Beside it being a badass truck.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I live in Yakima, WA. Have you thought about making camper shells from the old Suburban back halfs? I would love my truck to have a nice bed cover for the winter to keep my tools dry. I really don't like the few fiberglass ones i have found as i think they ruin the aesthetic of these beautiful old trucks.
Oh, and I just bought my first Old Chevy a few weeks ago. I am really excited to see a shop like yours within a reasonable drive from here. '71 Cheyenne 20, 4x4, Tilt, Custom Cab, Dealer One ton Springs, Uncut Dash, A/C Cab....only thing its missing is a Tach. I also can't find anyone i trust here to fix the couple places this truck has rust. I would say its easily 95% rust free. Can i take pics of the spots and mail them to you for a rough quote? Keep up the Epic work!!! Last edited by ChevyChaser; 02-24-2014 at 02:31 PM. Reason: misspelling |

As for jbclassix comment: I have swapped the trailing arms parts in place of 2wd leaf parts and everything fits right in place. Most of the mount holes are not the same however so lots of measuring & drilling is required. The holes were there in the forward trailing arm mount but the actual mount brackets were not installed on the leaf frame. Lots of fun getting those off the donor undamaged. My 2wd leaf frame was a Chevy optioned with leaf and it had dimples embossed into the frame to generally locate the leaf spring hangers. These are not on any of the trailing arm vehicles I have. Don't know if they are on the GMC's with standard leaf suspension. I will be putting the leaf parts into my 67 Suburban in place of the trailing arm setup some time soon. Those dimples would make things far easier to set up if they were there.

Some of the Trucks that are currently under construction at rtech fabrications. I will sometime soon start build threads for the different projects but for now you can see what is in the works.

On our way back from picking up our new swap meet trailer. And of course we had to stop and make our contribution.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Hey Randall, I took a look at the crew cab yesterday in Puyallup...INCREDIBLE! One of the most classy "restored" trucks that is still functional and works hard I have seen. Ma General missed the boat by not building that thing as you have.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Had the crew cab (Cowboy) and the K50 (Drill Sergeant) in a car show over the weekend. Thought the crew cab was a good sized until I parked them next to each other but Drill Sergeant received a People's Choice Award so no complaints

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I wish I could afford this conversion. I would much rather have a crew cab 4 door than my suburban. lol
Can you stretch it a little bit longer like a mega cab? I'd like extra storage especially since I don't need the fuel tank I would run under the bed large tanks Chris
